The Parker IQAN-XS2 (model number 5010017) is a slave expansion controller designed for IQAN mobile machine control systems. It adds configurable I/O capacity to any IQAN master unit via a CAN bus connection. The rugged XS2 focuses on digital on-off output control for hydraulic valves while also supporting analog and digital signal measurement inputs.
Supply voltage: 9 to 32 VDC. Output current rating: 1800 mA per channel. Electrical connection: AMP/Tyco power timer 42-pin sealed connector. The controller operates with 12 dedicated on-off outputs that are high-side power outputs, suitable for driving hydraulic valve solenoids and other actuator loads.
The IQAN-XS2 monitors up to 20 inputs that can be configured as analog voltage inputs or digital inputs. It has 12 dedicated digital outputs. The I/O may be flexibly configured within the IQAN master unit program to meet specific system requirements. Input types include 0-5 VDC analog signals that can also serve as digital inputs for switch monitoring.
The XS2 communicates with IQAN master displays or controllers over a controller area network (CAN) bus. As a slave unit, the XS2 requires no independent programming; its function is defined entirely in the IQAN master unit program using the easy-to-use IQAN programming tools. This allows seamless I/O expansion without additional configuration overhead.
Housing material: aluminum for effective heat dissipation and mechanical durability. Ingress protection rating: IP65, providing dust-tight protection and resistance to low-pressure water jets from any direction. Operating temperature range: -30°C to 70°C. The controller is equipped with an environmentally sealed 42-pin AMP/Tyco power timer connector designed for outdoor and mobile equipment environments.
Typical applications for the IQAN-XS2 include construction equipment, agricultural machinery, material handling equipment, and transportation vehicles. Specific use cases include outrigger control, grapple control, and auxiliary hydraulics control on mobile machines such as cranes, excavators, and forestry equipment.

Specifications met: 2004/108/EC (EMC Directive). The controller is designed for heavy-duty industrial applications and complies with relevant standards for mobile machine control electronics. Housing and sealing ensure reliable operation in outdoor environments exposed to moisture, dust, and vibration.
When added to an IQAN system, the XS2 expansion controller expands the I/O capacity of the master unit. Its function is configured entirely within the master program, enabling fast system expansion without software modifications to the expansion module itself. This slave architecture simplifies system design and reduces commissioning time.
The IQAN-XS2 is CE certified for electromagnetic compatibility. It is approved for use in construction equipment, agricultural machinery, material handling systems, and specialty transportation vehicles. The aluminum housing provides both mechanical strength and heat dissipation for reliable performance in demanding mobile machine control environments.
