The Valmet TIU 6 Printed Circuit Board, model A413110 with variants 05, 15253883, and 65424591B, is a termination interface unit designed to provide a structured and protected connection point between field instrumentation and the M2 series I/O modules. This board acts as a signal conditioning intermediary, routing analog and digital signals from field devices—such as transmitters, thermocouples, and limit switches—to the corresponding input channels of the AIU, BIU, and other modules within the rack. The TIU 6 is equipped with a comprehensive set of terminal blocks, fuses, and LED indicators that simplify wiring, protect against overcurrent, and provide visual status of each channel. Its robust PCB construction and compact footprint make it suitable for installation in junction boxes, marshalling panels, or directly within the control cabinet.

Electrical design of the A413110 incorporates 32 individually fused channels, with each fuse rated at 0.5 amperes for 24 V DC circuits. The fuses are of the fast-acting type to protect sensitive analog inputs from short circuits or accidental power misconnections. Each channel also includes a series resistor and a transient voltage suppressor (TVS) diode that clamp voltage spikes and limit current, providing additional protection for the expensive I/O modules downstream. The TVS diodes have a finite lifespan when subjected to repeated transients, so they should be checked during maintenance by measuring leakage current or by replacing the board proactively after ten years of service.
