Application Cases

Machine Tool Processing Field

Case details: In precision machine tool machining, such as CNC lathes and milling machines for machining high-precision parts. Taking the machining of aero-engine blades as an example, the 1326AB motor's high-resolution feedback system (e.g., using a high-resolution encoder configuration) can accurately control the relative position of the tool and the workpiece, with a positioning accuracy of up to the micron level. It maintains a stable output torque at high speeds to meet the frequent acceleration and deceleration and high-precision contour following requirements of blade complex surface machining, ensuring that the machined blades meet the design accuracy requirements and reducing the scrap rate.


Advantage: The special flux profile permanent magnet design of the motor improves the servo response speed, enabling the tool to respond quickly to the control system commands and achieve precise trajectory control. At the same time, the three-phase sinusoidal winding stator ensures the smoothness of the motor in low-speed operation, avoiding vibration during machining, which affects the machining surface quality . In addition, the motor's high level of protection (e.g. IP65 or optional IP67) enables stable operation in machine environments filled with cutting fluids, oils and metal chips, reducing the risk of environmental failures.


Robotics

Product Overview: This series of motors was designed by Allen-Bradley for use in high performance motion systems and is compatible with the 1394 motion control system.


Product Features

Design: Special flux profile permanent magnets for improved response, three-phase sinusoidally wound stator for smooth operation at low speeds. Extruded aluminium housing for heat dissipation, CEI/IEC 72-1 metric flange and metric shaft with threaded holes for coupling.

Protection: Standard TENV construction, IP65, optional IP67 (oil seal kit required). Normally closed thermal switches in the motor windings, precision balanced to 0.0127mm (0.0005in.) peak to peak displacement, UL approved insulation system.


Feedback system: standard with resolver to provide accurate position feedback and generate A quad B encoder outputs; high resolution encoders are also available, up to two million counts per revolution in single turn (-S) configuration and multi-turn (-M) configuration for absolute positioning over multiple revolutions without batteries, both configurations have on-board EEPROM to store motor configuration information but high resolution feedback is only available on the 9/440. High Resolution Feedback is only available for 9/440 High Resolution Feedback CNCs.


Performance Parameters: Gives performance data for different motor models in combination with the 1394 Axis Module, including rated speed, rated torque, rotor inertia, etc. For example, the 1326AB - B410G motor has a rated speed of 5000rpm at 460V and a rated torque of 2.7N-m (24lb-in.). Rated operation and intermittent operation areas are defined by speed-torque curves and terms are explained.


Dimensional Specifications: Lists in detail the mounting dimensions, including flanges, shaft extensions, etc., for B4, B5, and B7 series motors, with dimensions varying for different series and configurations. For example, for B4 series unbraked motors, AD dimensions vary from 201.7 - 328.7mm (7.94 - 12.94in.) for different models. Motor cable size information is also given, as well as specifications for motor mounting bolts for different series.


Case details: In joint drives for industrial robots, such as welding robots and assembly robots in automotive manufacturing plants. When welding robots perform welding operations, they need the robot arm to move to the specified position quickly and accurately. 1326AB motors, as the joint drive components, with their high torque output (e.g., continuous blocking torque and peak blocking torque in different models to meet different load requirements) and good dynamic response performance, enable the robot arm to maintain stability during frequent starts and stops and high-speed movements, ensuring the accuracy of the welding position and the stability of the welding quality. In the process of mobile phone screen assembly, it is necessary to accurately fit the screen to the mobile phone frame. 1326AB motor, together with the high-precision mechanical transmission mechanism, can achieve sub-millimetre positioning accuracy to ensure that the screen is accurately fitted to the exact position, and improve the yield rate of the product. In the process of chip placement, its high-speed and high-precision motion control capability can meet the needs of chip mounters to pick up and place chips quickly and improve production efficiency.
