This standard is the basic basis for guiding the training of elderly care workers, carrying out the identification of vocational skills and standardizing the professional behavior of elderly care. There are three phenomena in our country: more female students, more rural students and more low-income families. According to the survey, 76.46 percent of the college students surveyed were women, and 68.39 percent were registered as agricultural residents. In addition, the annual income of less than 80,000 yuan of low - and middle-income families accounted for 78.31%, of which the family annual income of less than 30,000 yuan accounted for 48.60%, between 30,000 yuan and 80,000 yuan accounted for 29.71%. There is an "invisible" problem of fairness in employment development in the elderly care industry. For example, at present, middle and low-income families with an annual income of less than 80,000 yuan are the main family background of college students majoring in elderly care services, and students with rural household registration account for more than two-thirds of students majoring in elderly care services.

Data from the National Health Commission shows that during 2014-2019, the number of nursing homes in China showed a rapid growth trend, with a growth rate of more than 40%.
