1.1 Applications
The CP 343-Lean communication processor is designed to run in the SIMATIC S7-300 or SIMATIC C7 automation systems.
It allows the S7-300 to be connected to industrial Ethernet and supports PROFINET IO.
To integrate CP in a linear bus or ring network to connect other Ethernet devices or to use PROFINET
Media redundancy with integrated 2-port ERTEC with automatic crossover, auto-negotiation and auto-detection
Real-time switch.
1.2 Enhanced Functions
Abbreviation for CP 343-1 Lean module
The module abbreviations for CP 343-1 Lean used below (such as CX10) correspond to the last four characters in the middle of the order number.
Configuration firmware version V3.0 requires new features
To use the features listed below, you need the following STEP 7 version:
● STEP 7 V5.5 + Service Pack 2 + Hotfix 1 + HSP 1056
If STEP 7 Professional V11.0 SP2 is used, only the CP function of firmware version V2.2 can be configured.
CX10 feature enhancements from firmware version V2.6 to V3.0 - works with STEP 7 V5.5
Firmware version 3.0 modules can use the following new features:
● PROFINET IO's "Shared device" function
● Use the PROFIenergy function
This requires the following PROFIenergy for CP 343-1 in the "SIMATIC_NET_CP" library
The blocks are used in conjunction with the STEP 7 versions listed above:
- PE_Start_CP, PE_CMD_CP, PE_I_DEV_CP and ET 200S for PROFIenergy
Program block DS3_WRITE_CP of the power module.
- See Standard for supplementary blocks FC0 through FC8 for PROFIenergy response data
The Library.
Photo Note:
1) Industrial Ethernet connection (PROFINET interface) : 2 8-pin RJ45 jacks
2) Connect the power supply
3) Slider for setting the ground connection of the housing
1.3 Communication Services
CP supports the following communication services:
● PROFINET IO
PROFINET IO allows direct access to IO devices over industrial Ethernet.
- PROFINET I/O device
Integration of the SIMATIC S7-300 automation system with CP into intelligent PROFINET IO devices (I
Equipment).
- Shared device
In STEP 7 V5.5, each submodule of the CP (IO device) can be assigned a maximum of two PROFINET IO
The controller.
Note the PROFINET System Notes for configuring PROFINET IO using shared IO devices
For system information, see /13/ (page 71).
● S7 communication and PG/OP communication with the following functions:
- PG function (including routing)
- Operator Monitoring Function (HMI)
- Data exchange only on an S7 connection configured at one end, not using the S7300/C7300
The communication block on the server
● Open communication services with the following functions:
- SEND/RECEIVE interface ISOonTCP, TCP, and UDP connections
UDP frame buffering on CP can be disabled during configuration.
When necessary, this can obtain a shorter response time, i.e. UDP frames arrive with the CPU
The interval at which it is evaluated.
- Multicast over UDP
The multicast mode can be realized by selecting the appropriate IP address when configuring the connection.
- FETCH/WRITE services implemented via ISO-on-TCP connections and TCP connections (servers; Correspond to
S5 protocol)
The addressing mode of FETCH/WRITE access can be configured as S7 or S5 addressing mode.
- Supports LOCK and UNLOCK for the FETCH/WRITE service
1.4 Other Services
CP also offers the following additional services:
● Media Redundancy (MRP)
In an Ethernet network with a ring topology, CP supports the medium redundancy protocol MRP. Can be MRP
The role of the client is assigned to CP.
● Clock synchronization based on industrial Ethernet
Clock synchronization can be configured in the following modes:
- SIMATIC mode
CP receives MMS time messages and synchronizes its local time and CPU time.
Accuracy approx. +/ -1 SEC
You can choose whether to forward the clock or not. You can also select the forwarding direction (Station > LAN or LAN > Station).
or
- NTP (Network Time Protocol)
CP Periodically sends clock queries to the NTP server and synchronizes it with the local clock. You can optionally forward the clock to
The CPU.
Accuracy approx. +/ -1 SEC
● Use factory set MAC addresses for addressing
CP can be accessed with a default MAC address, allowing IP addresses to be assigned.
● SNMP Agent
CP Supports data query through SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) version V1. It will be according to MIB II
The standard, LLDP MIB, Automated System MIB, and MRP Monitoring MIB provide specific MIBs
The content of the object.
● Module access protection
To protect a module from accidental or unauthorized access, you can configure different levels of protection.
● IP configuration
For PROFINET interfaces, CP can be configured to assign IP
Address method and mode, subnet mask, and gateway address.
Except STEP
7, the connection configuration can also be assigned through the block interface in the user program (FB55: IP_CONFIG).
● Web Diagnostics
With Web diagnostics, you can use a Web browser to connect from CP to PG/PC
Read diagnostic data in the station.
This allows the diagnostic buffer of the smart module in the rack to be read.
Using the Integrated Update Center on the diagnostics page, you can download the new firmware version and the diagnostics buffer message text.
