S7-300 - Industrial Ethernet / PROFINET CP 343-1 Lean

1.1 Applications

The CP 343-Lean communication processor is designed to run in the SIMATIC S7-300 or SIMATIC C7 automation systems.

It allows the S7-300 to be connected to industrial Ethernet and supports PROFINET IO.

To integrate CP in a linear bus or ring network to connect other Ethernet devices or to use PROFINET

Media redundancy with integrated 2-port ERTEC with automatic crossover, auto-negotiation and auto-detection

Real-time switch.

1.2 Enhanced Functions

Abbreviation for CP 343-1 Lean module

The module abbreviations for CP 343-1 Lean used below (such as CX10) correspond to the last four characters in the middle of the order number.

Configuration firmware version V3.0 requires new features

To use the features listed below, you need the following STEP 7 version:

● STEP 7 V5.5 + Service Pack 2 + Hotfix 1 + HSP 1056

If STEP 7 Professional V11.0 SP2 is used, only the CP function of firmware version V2.2 can be configured.

CX10 feature enhancements from firmware version V2.6 to V3.0 - works with STEP 7 V5.5

Firmware version 3.0 modules can use the following new features:

● PROFINET IO's "Shared device" function

● Use the PROFIenergy function

This requires the following PROFIenergy for CP 343-1 in the "SIMATIC_NET_CP" library

The blocks are used in conjunction with the STEP 7 versions listed above:

- PE_Start_CP, PE_CMD_CP, PE_I_DEV_CP and ET 200S for PROFIenergy

1.3 Communication Services

CP supports the following communication services:

● PROFINET IO

PROFINET IO allows direct access to IO devices over industrial Ethernet.

- PROFINET I/O device

- Shared device

In STEP 7 V5.5, each submodule of the CP (IO device) can be assigned a maximum of two PROFINET IO

● S7 communication and PG/OP communication with the following functions:

- PG function (including routing)

- Operator Monitoring Function (HMI)

1.4 Other Services

CP also offers the following additional services:

● Media Redundancy (MRP)

In an Ethernet network with a ring topology, CP supports the medium redundancy protocol MRP. Can be MRP

● Clock synchronization based on industrial Ethernet

Clock synchronization can be configured in the following modes:

- SIMATIC mode

CP receives MMS time messages and synchronizes its local time and CPU time.

● Connection diagnostics using AG_CNTEX blocks

Connections can be diagnosed using the AG_CNTEX block.

- If necessary, you can activate or disable the connection or start the re-establishment of the connection.

- Use the Ping function to check the reachability of the connection.

- You can find out which connection types are established for the SEND/RECEIVE interface.

1.5 CP acts as a Web server

Enable the Web server function

To use the Web server functionality of CP, enable the relevant options in the "Web" parameter group of the STEP 7 module properties.

Enable port 80 of CP.

If this feature is no longer needed, disable it. By default, the Web server feature is enabled.

Web diagnosis

CP provides Web server functionality so that users can perform access through a Web browser. CP provides HTML

Pages can be used for Web diagnostics. With Web diagnostics, you can use an Internet browser to connect from CP to

PG/PC station to read diagnostic data.

Using the integrated Update Center on the diagnostics page, you can download new firmware versions as well as language files for the diagnostics buffer message text.
