One "expansion" and two "stability" help the auto industry to speed up

The automobile industry is an important pillar industry of the national economy, with a long industrial chain, high correlation and strong driving force, and plays the role of "ballast" for the steady growth of the industrial economy. Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Finance and other seven departments jointly issued the "steady growth of the automotive industry work Plan (2023-2024)", proposed that in 2023 the automotive industry operation to maintain a stable and good development trend, and strive to achieve annual car sales of about 27 million, an increase of about 3%. We will expand the promotion of new energy vehicles

New energy vehicles are the main direction of the transformation and upgrading of the global automobile industry and the green development, and they are also the strategic choice for the high-quality development of China's automobile industry. In the first seven months of this year, the production and sales of new energy vehicles in China exceeded 4.5 million, an increase of more than 40% year-on-year. Stabilize fuel vehicle consumption

China Automobile Association data show that in the first seven months of this year, China's automobile production and sales were 15.65 million and 15.626 million, respectively, up 7.4% and 7.9% year-on-year. Although the sales volume of the domestic automobile market in the first 7 months has increased significantly, the domestic passenger car market has not fully recovered after excluding the increase in exports and commercial vehicles, and the recovery pressure of the domestic passenger car market is still large.

"The traditional fuel vehicle market, especially the passenger car market, is relatively sluggish this year, which has a certain drag on the development of the entire industry." Fu Bingfeng explained that the reason is that on the one hand, the rapid growth of the new energy vehicle market has caused a large squeeze on the market share of traditional fuel vehicles; On the other hand, the progress of joint ventures in the transformation and upgrading of new energy vehicles is relatively slow, and the product competitiveness is insufficient, which also affects the stable growth of the traditional fuel vehicle market to a large extent.

Data show that from 2017 to 2022, China's fuel vehicle sales fell from 28.102 million to 19.977 million, with a sales reduction of 8.125 million; Sales of new energy vehicles increased from 777,000 to 6.887 million, and sales increased by 6.11 million, and the substitution effect of new energy vehicles was very obvious.

"Fuel vehicles are the basic plate, are livelihood models, and are still the biggest part of the auto market." Cui Dongshu, secretary general of the National Passenger Car Market Information Association, believes that it is necessary to grasp the consumption structure and rhythm, and calls for stable fuel vehicle consumption from the policy.

In response to this problem, the "Plan" clearly proposes to stabilize fuel vehicle consumption. Specifically, all localities are not allowed to add new car purchase restrictions, and a certain number of car purchase indicators are encouraged to increase on the basis of car purchase indicators in 2022 to further promote car consumption.
