A-B 1715 Redundant I/O System Specifications

System Overview: The 1715 redundant I/O system consists of system modules, basic units, terminal components, and accessories, including the 1715-AENTR, 1715-IB16D, and other models, each with its own specific functions and application scenarios.

Module Specifications

1715-AENTR EtherNet/IP Adapter and 1715-A2A Module Chassis: Supports multi-module expansion, with clear requirements for operating voltage, power consumption, isolation voltage, etc., and an operating temperature range of -25°C to 60°C. They have passed various certifications, such as cULus, CE, etc.


1715-IB16D Digital Input Module: with specific operating voltage range and current consumption, capable of handling a certain rate of change of input signals, with isolation voltage standard, applicable to a variety of environmental conditions.

1715-OB8DE Digital Output Module: Specified output voltage variation rate, current consumption and power, passed relevant tests and certificates to ensure stable operation in various environments.


1715-IF16 analogue input module: with specific input resolution and measurement error standards, it can work stably within a certain temperature range and adapt to a variety of industrial environments.

1715-OF8I analogue output modules: provide output performance indicators to meet the needs of different industrial scenarios for analogue signal output.

Environmental adaptability: The modules can adapt to a wide temperature range, and can operate normally in the interval of - 40℃ to 85℃ (non-operating) and - 25℃ to 70℃ (operating), with a relative humidity requirement of 10% - 95% (non-condensing), and a certain degree of resistance to vibration, shock and electromagnetic interference.


Certifications: cULus, CE, C-Tick, Ex, IECEx, KC, etc. Some modules have SIL 2 functional safety level under specific firmware version, which meets relevant international and regional standards.

Accessory information: Includes 1715-N2S, 1715-N2T slot filler and 1715-C2 extension cable with length, voltage and weight specifications.


Functions of the system modules

Communication: The 1715-AENTR EtherNet/IP adapter is a key part of the system module and is responsible for efficient communication with external devices. It supports the EtherNet/IP protocol and enables stable data interaction with other devices that have an EtherNet/IP interface, thus building a reliable communication bridge for the entire industrial control system. Through the adapter, the system can transmit data with the host computer, other controllers or intelligent devices to achieve real-time monitoring and remote control of the production process. For example, in an automated production line, the 1715-AENTR can quickly transmit the data collected by the field I/O modules to the host computer monitoring system, so that the operators can keep abreast of the production status.


Device Adaptation and Management Functions: Module bases such as 1715-A2A and 1715-A3IO provide stable installation platforms and adaptation interfaces for other I/O modules. 1715-A2A can support one I/O bus, eight 1715-A3IO modules and 24 I/O modules, while 1715-A3IO can connect multiple I/O modules, which can accurately distribute power and data signals to ensure the normal operation of each module. Signal Processing and Conversion Function: The system module can process and convert all kinds of signals from the connected equipment.1715-IB16D Digital Input Module will adjust and convert the digital signals from the external input to meet the system's logic level requirements, and then transmit them to the subsequent processing unit.1715-IF16 Analogue Input Module will convert the analogue signals into digital signals, which is convenient for the system to carry out digital processing and analysis. The 1715-IF16 analogue input module converts analogue signals into digital signals for digital processing and analysis. In industrial production, the signals from temperature, pressure and other analogue sensors can be accurately collected and processed by the system after being converted by the 1715-IF16 module, providing data support for production control.


Redundancy for Reliability: The system modules are designed with redundancy to improve the reliability and fault tolerance of the system. Under the redundant configuration, when one module fails, the backup module can take over the work in time to ensure the continuous and stable operation of the system.
