2-3 Short circuit clearing of CMOS content

When the BIOS settings are incorrect and cannot be started, short circuit pins 2-3 of JBAT1 for about 2 seconds after power off, restore them to pins 1-2, and then power on again to restore the factory BIOS settings.

3.3 Clear BIOS Password (JPWD1)

1-2 Short circuit normal operation (default)

2-3 Short circuit clearing BIOS password

When forgetting the supervisor or user password, short circuit pins 2-3 of JPWD1 to clear the password setting.


Chapter 4: Detailed Explanation of Key Interfaces and Connectors

4.1 Front panel connector (JFP1)

JFP1 has a 20 pin needle arrangement and integrates all control signals from the front panel

Pin group signal function

Power LED (1-3-5-7)+5V, PLED power indicator light (Pin5 for signal, Pin1 for+5V)

ATX power supply (9-11-15-17) GND, PWRONT ATX soft switch control

Chassis speaker (2-4-6-8-11-13) SPKS, GND buzzer output

Reset button (10-12) RESETBT, GND hardware reset

Hard drive LED (14-16) HDLED,+5V hard drive activity indicator

4.2 Power Connection

ATX 12V power supply (JPW1): 4-pin+12V auxiliary power supply interface, must be connected, otherwise the CPU cannot obtain sufficient current and the system cannot start.

ATX main power supply: obtained from the backplane through a gold finger.

4.3 IDE and SATA storage interface

IDE1 (ATA133): 40 pin IDE interface, supports PIO Mode 0-4 and Ultra DMA 66/100/133. When connecting two IDE devices, a master/slave jumper needs to be set.

SATA1/SATA2: SATA II interface, data rate of 300MB/s, fully compatible with Serial ATA 2.0 specification. Important reminder: "Please do not fold the Serial ATA cable into a 90 degree angle. Otherwise, data loss may occur during transmission." Do not bend the SATA cable 90 degrees, as this may result in data transmission errors.

4.4 Other I/O interfaces

COM1/COM 2: 16550A serial port, supports 16 byte FIFO. COM1 is configured in RS-232/422/485 mode through three sets of jumpers (JP1/JP2/JP3).

F_USB1/F_USB2: Two USB 2.0 pin sockets, supporting 480Mbps high-speed transmission.

J1 (parallel port): 26 pin arrangement, supports SPP/EPP/ECP mode.

JAUD1 (Front Panel Audio): 14 pin audio pin layout (optional), supports front audio I/O.

JRT1: Temperature sensor interface, which can be connected to an external thermal probe to monitor the temperature of the system.

Chapter 5: Detailed Explanation of BIOS Key Configuration Items

NuPRO-852 uses AMI BIOS, press F1 key to enter Setup when booting up (note: different from the common Del key).

5.1 Main (Main Menu)

System time/date: 24-hour format, format HH: MM: SS/MM: DD: YY.

IDE Channel Configuration: Supports IDE1 master/slave and SATA1/SATA2 device detection.

Type: Auto/None/Manual

Multi Sector Transfers: Block mode transfer, recommended to enable

LBA Mode Control: Enable LBA addressing for large capacity hard drives

32-bit I/O: Enable 32-bit transmission to improve performance

Transfer Mode/Ultra DMA Mode: Select data transfer mode and UDMA level

5.2 Advanced (Advanced Settings)

5.2.1 CPU Features

Thermal Management: PU Thermal Management Technology (TM1/TM2)

TM2 Bus Ratio/TM2 Bus VID: Doubling and VID values in Thermal Monitor 2 mode

Limit CPUID MaxVal: Limit the maximum value of CPUID (disabled for Windows XP)

C1E Function: C1E power-saving function (can reduce clock and voltage)

Execute Disable Bit: XD hardware antivirus technology, it is recommended to enable it

Virus Warning: Boot sector protection, Disabled (must be turned off when running disk tools)

Quick Power On Self Test: Enabled to accelerate POST startup

Boot Up NumLock Status: NumLock On/Off

Gate A20 Option: Fast (chipset control) or Normal (keyboard controller control)

DVMT Mode: Dynamic Video Memory Allocation Technology, it is recommended to use DVMT Mode
