MODBUS-RTU: The most widely used communication protocol in the industrial field, facilitating seamless integration with various PLCs, SCADA systems, and energy management platforms.
DLT645-2007: Communication protocol standard for electric energy meters in China's power industry, meeting the regulatory requirements of the power sector for electric energy data collection.
5.3 Communication speed
Supports multiple communication speeds to choose from: 1200bps, 2400bps, 4800bps, 9600bps, 19200bps, 38400bps, to meet different communication distances and reliability requirements.
5.4 System Integration Capability
IQ500 can be connected to computer monitoring systems to achieve remote data collection, parameter setting, control operations, and other functions. It is an ideal terminal device for building intelligent power monitoring systems. Through standard communication protocols, it is easy to access various energy management systems (EMS), building automation systems (BAS), and industrial automation systems.
Installation and Wiring Guide
6.1 Mechanical Installation
IQ500 adopts the standard 96 × 96mm panel hole installation method, and the installation process is simple and fast:
Installation steps:
Open a 91 × 91mm square hole on the switchgear panel
Release and remove the installation cards on both sides of IQ500
Push IQ500 into the installation hole from the front of the panel
Install the installation card along the groove of the device from the rear
Push the installation card tightly to squeeze the panel, and the device will be firmly fixed
Space requirements:
Depth requirement behind the panel: ≥ 100mm (considering wiring length)
Suggested installation space: ≥ 130 × 130 × 100mm (convenient for installation and wiring operations)
6.2 Wiring System Method
IQ500 supports multiple wiring methods to adapt to different power system structures:
Three phase four wire 3CT (3P4W 3CT): Suitable for common three-phase four wire power supply methods in low-voltage distribution systems
Three phase three wire system 3CT (3P3W 3CT): suitable for three-phase three wire system, using 3 current transformers
Three phase three wire system 2CT (3P3W 2CT): suitable for three-phase three wire system, using 2 current transformers (two watt meter method)
6.3 Detailed Explanation of Terminal Definition
The wiring terminals at the rear of IQ500 are arranged clearly and the functional zoning is clear:
Power terminal (1-2):
1: L (live/positive)
2: N (neutral/negative)
Switch input terminal (3-7):
3: DI1 (1st switch input)
4: DI2 (2nd switch input)
5: DI3 (3rd switch input)
6: DI4 (4th switch input)
7: COM (Public End)
8: SHLD (Shielded Ground)
RS485 communication terminal (9-11):
9: DR+(RS485 A+/positive terminal)
10: RS - (RS485 B -/negative terminal)
11: Empty
Relay output terminals (12-17):
12: RO11 (1st relay normal start)
13: RO12 (common terminal of the first relay)
14: Empty
15: RO21 (2nd relay normal start)
16: RO22 (2nd relay common terminal)
17: Empty
Voltage input terminals (21-24):
21: U1 (A-phase voltage)
22: U2 (B-phase voltage)
23: U3 (C-phase voltage)
24: Un (voltage neutral point)
Current input terminal (25-30):
25: I11 (A-phase current input)
26: I12 (A-phase current outflow)
27: I21 (B-phase current input)
28: I22 (B-phase current outflow)
29: I31 (C-phase current input)
30: I32 (C-phase current outflow)
6.4 Wiring precautions
The voltage input should be connected through a fuse to ensure safety
The secondary side of the current transformer must not have an open circuit, and should be short circuited before wiring
The communication line should use shielded twisted pair cables, with the shielding layer grounded at one end
The switch input is a passive node and requires external power supply
The output capacity of the relay is limited, and large loads need to be expanded through intermediate relays
