The ABB DI01 is a digital input module designed for use in ABB's Symphony Plus and other distributed control systems (DCS). It provides 16 independent channels for acquiring digital status signals from field devices such as limit switches, pushbuttons, relay contacts, and proximity sensors operating at 24V DC or 48V DC. The module ensures reliable signal acquisition in industrial environments with high electrical noise.
Each of the 16 input channels is galvanically isolated from the others and from the system backplane, with isolation voltage typically 500V AC/DC. This prevents ground loops and protects the control system from voltage transients. The inputs are designed for 24V DC nominal (range 18-30V DC) or 48V DC nominal (range 36-60V DC), selectable via wiring or configuration. Each channel includes a status LED for visual indication.

The module supports hot-swap, allowing replacement without powering down the system. Redundant communication options are available.
