BENTLY 60R/INP01 4-Channel Isolated Analog Input Module
The BENTLY 60R/INP01 is a 4-Channel Analog Input Module specifically designed for the Bently Nevada 3300/20 Enhanced Machinery Protection System (EMPS) and compatible monitoring racks. This module serves as a critical interface for integrating auxiliary 4-20 mA process signals into the comprehensive machinery health monitoring framework. Its primary function is to condition, digitize, and monitor standard current loop signals from field transmitters, converting them into digital values that can be displayed, alarmed upon, and trended within the 3300 system alongside traditional vibration and position measurements.
Technical Specifications
The 60R/INP01 provides 4 independent, isolated channels for 4-20 mA DC current loop signals, the standard process control signal. The module may also support 0-20 mA or other ranges via configuration. Input impedance is low, typically 250 Ohms using an internal precision sensing resistor. Each channel features channel-to-channel isolation and channel-to-system backplane isolation, typically rated at 500 Vrms or higher, to prevent ground loops and noise interference. Accuracy is high, typically ±0.1 percent of full scale or better, with high-resolution analog-to-digital conversion using 16-bit or higher resolution.
Integration and Functionality
By incorporating the 60R/INP01, the 3300 system transforms from a dedicated vibration monitor into a unified machinery and process health surveillance platform. The module allows users to bring in key process parameters such as temperature from RTD or thermocouple transmitters, pressure, flow, level, and load such as motor current directly into the same trusted protection system. Each of the four channels is independently configurable, featuring signal isolation, high-resolution analog-to-digital conversion, and user-defined scaling to engineering units. This enables the setting of alert and danger setpoints, the generation of relay outputs, and the correlation of process data with mechanical vibration data for more advanced diagnostics and protection logic.
Configuration
The module is configured via Bently Nevada configuration software such as BNC Toolbox connected to the 3300 system. Configuration settings include input range selection for 4-20 mA or other ranges, scaling configuration to map the 4-20 mA input to engineering units such as degrees Celsius, PSI, or percent load, alarm setpoint configuration for alert and danger thresholds per channel, and filtering and smoothing parameters to reduce noise on process signals. The update rate is suitable for process monitoring, typically providing several updates per second.
Applications
The BENTLY 60R/INP01 is deployed in machinery protection applications requiring integration of process signals alongside vibration monitoring. Typical applications include turbine monitoring where steam temperature and pressure must be correlated with shaft vibration for comprehensive diagnostics, compressor protection where suction and discharge pressure monitoring provides context for vibration analysis, and large pump systems where motor current and discharge pressure are integrated into the protection system for complete asset health assessment. The module is also used in power generation, petrochemical processing, and any installation where 4-20 mA process signals must be brought into the 3300 protection system for alarming, trending, and advanced diagnostics.
