GE UR8FH CT/VT module

DESCRIPTION

General Electric Multilin’s UR-8FH is a CT/VT module designed for installation in the Universal Relays series. It provides the relay with 3-1A/5A phase current transformers, 1A/5A ground current transformers, and four voltage transformer terminals. Current transformers and voltage transformers are capable of scaling down current and voltages to manageable levels for relay monitoring and control, and are necessary for producing vital data for the relay.

Functional Characteristics

Current and Voltage Measurement:

This module provides 3 1A/5A phase current transformers, 1A/5A ground current transformer and four voltage transformer terminals for the relay.

The current transformers and voltage transformers are capable of reducing current and voltage to manageable levels for relay monitoring and control, and are necessary to generate critical data for the relay.

Data Isolation and Protection:

In addition to providing data from the power system, current transformers are able to isolate the system from extreme currents and voltages, thereby extending system life and reducing general maintenance costs.

Voltage transformers increase user safety and reliably measure power system voltage.

Highly configurable CT/VT settings:

CT/VT settings can be highly modified to create unique protection schemes such as differential protection, concurrent phase splitting protection, etc., thus increasing the versatility of the module.

Possible Enhanced Diagnostics:

Similar to GE's other CT/VT modules, the UR8FH may also have enhanced diagnostic features that can verify the integrity of the analogue signals and ensure that components are functioning properly. However, it is important to refer to the product manual or consult with the manufacturer to determine if this feature is available.
