Lauer LCA 265 Text Display

The Lauer LCA 265 (also referenced as LCA265) is a compact alphanumeric operator terminal designed for simple control and monitoring tasks. It features a 4-line by 20-character LCD display with adjustable backlight, a membrane keypad with function and navigation keys, and serial communication (RS232/RS485). This unit is ideal for small machinery, conveyor systems, and process stations where a graphical HMI is not required but clear text information and parameter input are needed.

Functional Features

The LCA 265 can store up to 255 user-defined messages with embedded variables. It supports scrolling, blinking, and inverse video. The keypad can be customized to trigger commands like start, stop, reset, or parameter adjustment. Communication uses a simple ASCII protocol or Modbus RTU. The unit includes a real-time clock (optional) for timestamping and can log up to 100 alarm events.

Configuration is done via a PC tool through the serial port.

Installation Guidelines

Mount in a panel cutout with gasket and clips. Connect 24 V DC power with a 0.5 A fuse. For RS485, use shielded twisted-pair cable with termination. For RS232, use a standard null-modem cable. Set communication parameters via DIP switches on the rear.
