Lush green mines, vibrant mining ecology, advanced and applicable resource conservation and comprehensive utilization technology...... This is the conscious action of the mining industry to cherish the earth and seek "harmonious coexistence between man and nature", and it is also a vivid footnote of the mining industry to further promote the construction of ecological civilization and explore the establishment of modern mining civilization.

The earth is the home for human survival and development, and natural resources including land and minerals in nature are an important basis for human survival, a source of material and energy required for human production and life, and an important condition and place for production layout. It should be said that the history of human civilization for thousands of years is a history of the relationship between man and nature. While constantly developing and utilizing natural resources and creating human civilization, human beings have also destroyed the natural environment to varying degrees, resulting in the deterioration of the ecological environment on the earth, frequent natural disasters, aggravated soil erosion, waste of natural resources, and reduction of biodiversity. Resource and environmental problems have once restricted the development of human society. Cherish the earth, protect natural resources and ecological environment, and realize green and sustainable development have become the inevitable choice for the development of human society.

"All living things grow together without harming each other, and paths run parallel without contradicting each other." Since ancient times, the Chinese nation's long history and civilization have nurtured rich ecological and cultural genes. Respecting and loving nature is an endless fine tradition of the Chinese nation. Man and nature are a community of life, and human beings must respect, conform to and protect nature.  It becomes the fundamental guide and direction for us to deal with the relationship between man and nature.

 We will carry out major national ecological conservation and restoration projects, establish a system for developing and protecting territorial space, improve the monitoring and early warning mechanism for the carrying capacity of resources and the environment, promote the economical and intensive use of resources, and set up the first batch of national parks such as Sanjiangyuan. The concept of ecological civilization such as "clear water and green mountains are gold hills and silver mountains" and "protecting the ecological environment like protecting the eyes" has become increasingly popular and rooted in the practice of mining modernization

In the field of geological survey and exploration, the Declaration on Green Exploration Action was issued, proposing that the geological exploration industry vigorously promote green exploration, explore gold and silver mountains, and retain green water and green mountains; To organize the demonstration implementation of green exploration projects, coordinate the promotion of mineral resource exploration and ecological environmental protection, strengthen mineral exploration, improve energy and resource security capabilities, innovate the management system and technical methods of geological exploration, and accelerate the establishment of a new era of green exploration management system and standards and norms; Focusing on the strategic needs of the country, we will vigorously promote low-carbon and clean energy exploration, strengthen domestic exploration and development of important energy and mineral resources, increase storage and production, and support the optimization and adjustment of the industrial structure and energy structure. In the field of mineral development and utilization, actively promote the construction of green mines, issue green mine construction standards in nine major industries, and provide technical and management support for the development of green mining and the construction of green mines; Twenty-six provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central government) have made the construction of green mines a key task in the field of mineral resources management, promulgated local rules and regulations or normative documents, and 15 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government) have issued local standards for green mines. 29 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government) issued green mine management measures, construction or action plans jointly drafted by the provincial people's government or a number of departments and bureaux. In the field of ecological restoration in mines, the central government has arranged transfer payments to support ecological restoration with real money. According to the White paper "Biodiversity Conservation in China" released in October 2021, China's forest area and forest stock have maintained "double growth" for 30 consecutive years, becoming the country with the largest increase in forest resources in the world. By establishing a scientific and rational system of protected natural areas, 90 percent of terrestrial ecosystem types and 71 percent of wildlife species under state key protection have been effectively protected.

At the same time, China's mining industry is also in the process of promoting modernization, and constantly accumulates the green power of ecological civilization, highlighting the vitality of the energy structure continues to optimize and upgrade, and the proportion of coal in primary energy consumption continues to decrease, and the proportion of coal consumption in primary energy consumption in the country from 60.4% to 56% from 2017 to 2021. The proportion of non-fossil energy consumption increased from 13.8% to 15.8%; Up to now, China has built 1,254 national-level green mines, and green has become the basic background color of mine construction.
