Solve the key scientific problems in the whole process from basic research in the laboratory to industrial application, provide advanced industrialization technology and various functional products to meet the development of high-tech industry and improve the quality of people's life, and maximize energy conservation and emission reduction.

The development of China's metallurgical engineering discipline not only aims at the international frontier of the discipline at all times, but also keeps innovating and forging ahead closely around the medium and long-term planning and major needs of national scientific development. With the adjustment of the structure of traditional metallurgical industry and the rapid development of high and new technology in materials, nano, information, machinery and other disciplines, the basic research of metallurgical engineering in China has made great progress and development. At the same time, the research team in the field of metallurgical engineering is also growing, the research level is rapidly improving, the research ideas are constantly expanding and innovating, and the cases of successful industrialization are also increasing. With the continuous development of metallurgical engineering and the cross-integration with related disciplines, The new metallurgical physical chemistry disciplines include metallurgical thermodynamics and thermochemistry, metallurgical kinetics and process strengthening, metallurgical melts, basic theory of metallurgical electrochemistry and electrochemical engineering, secondary resource chemistry of non-ferrous metals, physical chemistry of materials and new energy materials, physical chemistry of nanomaterials, physical chemistry of resources and environment, physical chemistry of green metallurgy and physical chemistry of materials preparation, and metallurgical non-lines Sex theory, metallurgical physical chemistry of external field action, biological metallurgical physical chemistry, new methods of metallurgical physical chemistry research, new testing technology and new instruments, etc. This is the demand for the self-improvement and reform of the metallurgical engineering system, and also the demand for the development of the national basic industrial science and technology industry.
