National Pipe Network Group to build a "national network"

As of March 15, during the winter and spring heating season of the natural gas pipeline network of the National Pipeline Network Group, 84.4 billion cubic meters of natural gas has been transported, an increase of 9% over the same period last year, and the task of ensuring natural gas supply in winter has been successfully completed.

In the winter of 2020, many places in China experienced unusually strong cold air, and the demand for natural gas soared. During the heating season, the country's gas consumption reached a maximum of 1.32 billion cubic meters, and the northern region's gas consumption exceeded 300 million cubic meters for 74 consecutive days. The daily gas transmission of the pipeline network has continuously broken through the peak of high month and high day, and the maximum daily gas transmission has reached 770 million cubic meters.

For the first time, the National pipeline network Group, which is responsible for the main responsibility of national natural gas supply assurance and scheduling coordination, has ushered in a major test in just one year. In the face of the sharp increase in natural gas consumption, the National Pipeline Network Group takes natural gas supply assurance as the top priority of work, actively contacts the gas source enterprises and gas supply enterprises, implements the gas source, docking and transportation plan, actively reserves the pipeline network storage and liquefied natural gas (LNG) tank storage and gas storage inventory, timely adjusts the LNG gasification export volume and gas storage volume. Effectively balance the overall air volume in and out of the pipe network to respond to changes in demand. At the same time, the 46,000 kilometers of long gas transmission pipelines and more than 100 pressurized gas stations belonging to the National Pipeline Network Group are operating at full capacity, and the main equipment of each station is operating at full capacity under the conditions of meeting safety production.

The Zhongwei Liaison Compressor Station in Ningxia is the largest natural gas terminal in Asia, with a daily capacity of 190 million cubic meters. 60 kilometers to the west from Zhongwei Station is the Tengger Desert, the west-east gas transmission line from the edge of the desert, through 10 provinces, the Tarim Basin in Xinjiang gas to Henan, Anhui, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai regions. In the winter of 2020, the extremely cold weather makes pipeline patrol extremely difficult, and the pipeline protection pile plate falls down, and help it up; The pipeline was eroded by wind, and was re-buried and fixed with sandbags and grass squares... The staff of the National pipeline Network Group overcame many difficulties, combined with the characteristics of the desert terrain operation, and successfully completed every task of pipeline patrol.

Located in Xinjiang, Khorgos Station is the first station of the second and third lines of the west-East gas pipeline, and it is also the westernmost gateway station of China, where natural gas from Central Asia enters the country. The station has a total of eight compressor units with a total power of 248 megawatts, pressurizing more than 100 million cubic meters of natural gas per day to provide transmission power. Saiyikejiang Wulong, who was transferred to Khorgos Station in 2009 to maintain the work of the natural gas compressor unit, has been sticking to his job for more than ten consecutive Spring Festival years. "The Spring Festival period is a critical period of supply, and the gas transmission task is heavy. As the first station of the second and third lines of the west-east gas pipeline into China, the safe and smooth operation of our compressors is related to the warmth of the Chinese Spring Festival, so I can rest assured here." Mr. Saikiang said.

In the process of supply protection, the role of "national network" has been highlighted, connecting the trunk line, opening up the node, weaving the network, and realizing the flexible deployment of imported natural gas, domestic natural gas and gas storage and peak adjustment equipment through these "hubs". The role of liaison lines has improved the interconnection, mutual supply and mutual protection capabilities of gas transmission main lines.

Guangzhou gas transmission liaison Station, located in Guangdong Province, is located at the end of the east section of the second line of West-East gas transmission, and is an important sub-gas transmission liaison station in southeast China. During the supply guarantee period, on the basis of meeting the gas demand of Guangdong and Guangxi regions, Guangzhou gas transmission liaison Station changed the previous practice of "North gas southbound", pressurized several LNG receiving stations along the coast and imported gas from the China-Myanmar pipeline to "South gas Northbound", jointly alleviated the transportation pressure of the middle and west trunk lines of the west-East gas transmission, and ensured the gas supply to Hunan, Hubei and the Yangtze River Delta region to the greatest extent.

In order to make the national natural gas pipeline network layout more perfect, the National pipeline Network Group accelerated the pace of natural gas pipeline construction, and the pipeline project departments actively responded to the challenges of climate change. Around the end of 2020, a number of national key projects such as the China-Russia East Route (Changling, Jilin Province - Yongqing, Hebei Province), the Qingning Natural Gas Pipeline, and the West-East Gas transmission Fuzhou Link Line have been put into operation. Data show that in 2020, the total mileage of natural gas pipelines completed and put into operation by the National Pipeline Network Group will be 2,669 kilometers.
