In December 1984, the first production line of Yihua Polyester Plant was completed and put into operation

From the conversion of drawings in August 1982 to the successful commissioning of the first domestic spinning line in July 1985, it took only three years to complete the key task. In April 1986, the key project with an annual output of 15,000 tons of polyester staple fiber passed the appraisal committee organized by the relevant departments. Thus, China has entered a new era of using domestic large-scale, complete sets of chemical fiber equipment to equip chemical fiber industry.

In 1990, Yizheng Chemical fiber I and II projects were fully completed and put into operation, forming an annual production capacity of 500,000 tons of chemical fiber and chemical fiber raw materials, accounting for 1/3 of the national synthetic fiber output, 1/2 of the polyester output, equivalent to 1/8 of the national cotton output, to provide 5 meters of cloth per person per year, add a set of "Dacron" new clothes, Become the largest production base of chemical fiber and chemical fiber raw materials in China.

Native polyester hollow is Yizheng chemical fiber polyester series product family members "rising star". In 1990, Yizheng Chemical Fiber introduced an annual production line of 4,000 tons of polyester hollow, which opened the prelude to domestic polyester hollow production. In August 1994, Yizheng Chemical Fiber built the first domestic 3D crimped polyester hollow production line with an annual output of 12,000 tons through technological innovation, becoming the country's largest 3D crimped polyester hollow production line.

On April 20, 1998, Yizheng Chemical fiber "White" brand bottle grade polyester chip obtained foreign FDA/EEC quality certification, becoming the first product to obtain this quality certification in China, and obtained the "admission ticket" to enter the international market; 

On December 15, 2000, Yizheng Chemical Fiber passed the "Pepsi Cola" certification, which also made Yizheng Chemical fiber become the first domestic enterprise that passed the "Coca-Cola" company and "Pepsi Cola" company product dual certification.

Since the 1980s, China's polyester industry is developing rapidly, but the process equipment and technology of Chinese polyester enterprises have become the "expo" of "foreign equipment", which is subject to the long-term situation and the sustainable development of China's polyester industry is disproportionate.

In 1992, Yizheng Chemical Fiber combined with East China University of Science and Technology, Institute of Textile Science and Technology and Nanhua Group Machinery Factory to introduce polyester equipment for 30% capacity improvement; In 1997, Yizheng Chemical fiber organization implemented China's first set of 100,000 tons/year of domestic polyester project complete sets of equipment and technology projects, the project was listed as the national "ninth Five-Year" major technical research projects and Sinopec "ten dragons" science and technology research projects.

On December 8, 2000, the project successfully started a feeding, completely broke the monopoly of foreign technology, ended the history of the introduction of foreign technology in China's polyester industry, created a road for the construction of polyester equipment, greatly reduced the technical threshold and investment cost of polyester project construction, and led to the leapfrog development of China's chemical fiber industry. The project has won the second prize of National Science and Technology Progress and the first prize of China Petrochemical Science and Technology Progress.

The production technology of high-performance fiber has been blocked by Western countries in the past and embargoes have been imposed on other countries. With the development of China's national defense military industry and the national economy, the demand for high-performance fibers will become more and more large, while international prices continue to rise, and the application of domestic high-performance fibers in national defense and special fields is also subject to foreign supplies. Therefore, vigorously develop the high-performance fiber industry, break the foreign blockade and monopoly, further enhance China's military equipment strength, and promote the industrial upgrading of the national economy, which has become a main direction for China's chemical fiber industry to promote independent innovation, transformation and upgrading.
