In 1990, Yizheng Chemical fiber I and II projects were fully completed and put into operation, forming an annual production capacity of 500,000 tons of chemical fiber and chemical fiber raw materials, accounting for 1/3 of the national synthetic fiber output, 1/2 of the polyester output, equivalent to 1/8 of the national cotton output, which can provide a set of "Dacron" new clothes for each person in the country every year. In December 2000, the State Economic and Trade Commission "ninth Five-Year" major science and technology research project and Sinopec "Ten dragons" science and technology research project - the first set of 100,000 tons/year of domestic polyester device was completed and put into operation in Yizheng Chemical Fiber, breaking the foreign technology monopoly in one stroke, opening up the road of Chinese polyester device construction. It has greatly reduced the technical threshold and investment cost of polyester project construction, and led to the leapfrog development of China's chemical fiber industry.

In 2013, Chen Jinhua, vice chairman of the ninth National Committee of the CPPCC and the first general manager of Sinopec, wrote the article "Thirty Years of Sinopec" on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Sinopec: In the TV special report of "reporters go to the grassroots", the people in the western region are living a difficult life, eating, living, traveling and using conditions are very poor, but men, women and children are warm and decent clothes.

Over the past 45 years, generations of Yichua employees have used wisdom and sweat, loyalty and dedication to meet the needs of the country and the people as their mission, dare to be the first, work hard, reform and innovation, and forge ahead. Yizheng Chemical fiber has produced more than 54 million tons of polyester products, equivalent to the output of more than 1 billion mu of high-quality cotton fields, and the clothes made from them can add 108 sets of "Dacron" new clothes for each person in the country.

In early 2020, with the outbreak of the novel coronavirus pneumonia and a serious shortage of anti-epidemic supplies, the demand for masks, as the most important protective supplies in the fight against the epidemic, has soared, and it is difficult to find a cover. The "heart" of the production of masks - melt-blown cloth (polypropylene melt-blown nonwovens), the domestic production capacity is seriously insufficient, and the supply is in short supply, which has become the "bottleneck" of the industrial chain.

In order to meet the urgent need to fight the epidemic and protect people's lives, health and safety, Sinopec decided to fully intervene in the production of melt-blown materials, melt-blown cloth and masks. Yizheng Chemical Fiber actively implemented the deployment of the Party Group of the Group company, and on February 24 and March 10, respectively, started the construction of the first phase of 8 and the second phase of 4 melt-blown cloth production lines, with a total production capacity of 6,000 tons/year.

Melt-blown fabric is a "zero basis" project for Yizheng chemical fiber. Under normal circumstances, a production line from scientific research project approval, administrative license approval, equipment procurement and manufacturing to delivery and production, at least one year. "State-owned enterprises have an unshirkable responsibility to meet the urgent needs of the country and society." Yizheng chemical fiber Party Committee issued a mobilization order to the whole company.

Yizheng Chemical fiber was ordered to move, hear the order, start from zero, emergency cross-border, break the routine, wall map combat, set up leading groups, professional groups and party members commandos, design, procurement, manufacturing, construction, production preparation, learning from Huoshenshan, Leishenshan hospital builders, fight speed, all work day and night, orderly development. On March 29, after 35 days, the first production line was completed and put into operation; On May 9, after 76 days, all 12 production lines were completed and put into operation, running out of the acceleration of manufacturing in China, helping Sinopec to become the world's largest melt-blown fabric production base. After all 12 production lines are put into operation, 18 tons of high-quality melt-blown cloth can be produced every day, helping to increase the daily increase of 18 million disposable medical masks.

From the first production line put into operation on March 29 to the end of July, Yizheng Chemical fiber high-quality meltblown cloth was put on the market at parity, targeted supply of national epidemic prevention and protection key enterprises, and implemented the solemn commitment of "SINOPEC let people buy masks and afford masks" with practical actions.

While fully ensuring the supply of domestic melt-blown fabric, since the second half of 2020, Yizheng Chemical Fiber has actively explored the international market, and its products have been exported to Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia and other countries and regions. The usual medical masks are white, but Europeans like to wear colored masks, if the use of white melt-blown cloth as the middle layer, sometimes there will be defects such as leakage of white. Yizheng Chemical Fiber actively carried out research, through adjusting the formula, optimizing the process and other measures, to solve this problem.

Wearing masks and glasses in winter is easy to fog, which has become a worry for many people. As an important raw material for medical masks, the filtration efficiency and ventilation resistance of melt-blown cloth are a pair of contradictions, and the higher the filtration efficiency of general bacteria, the greater the resistance; The resistance is large, the permeability of the mask is poor, and the breath will leak out from the top of the nose bridge causing the glasses to fog. Yizheng Chemical fiber organization to carry out special research, through the optimization of raw materials, improve equipment, improve filtration efficiency uniformity and other technical innovations, successfully produced ultra-low gas resistance meltblow cloth. This achievement won the first prize for technical innovation achievements of outstanding workers in the national energy chemical geology system.

In mid-December 2022, Yizheng Chemical Fiber quickly responded to changes in market demand, resumed a number of melt-blown cloth production lines, and actively coordinated supply chain enterprises, strengthened quality control, rapidly increased the melt-blown cloth needed for KN95 and N95 masks in short supply in the market, and fully met the order needs of mask enterprises around the country.

In January 2023, Yizheng Chemical fiber used melt-blown microfiber and polyester hollow fiber composite made of new thermal floc successfully trial production, in the case of the same gram weight of the thermal performance increased by more than 30%, expanded the use of melt-blown microfiber in the post-epidemic era. At present, Yizheng chemical fiber is accelerating the development of lightweight thermal tooling in the petroleum and petrochemical fields, creating conditions for workers to operate flexibly outdoors in winter.

As a derivative of petroleum, PTA (refined terephthalic acid) connects the two major industries of petrochemical and chemical fiber textile, and is an important part of the aromatic industry chain. As one of the important bulk organic raw materials, PTA can be further processed into polyester fiber, film, plastic products, etc., which is closely related to people's clothing, food, housing and transportation. In recent years, with the progress of science and technology and application development, new polyester products extended by PTA are increasingly widely used in life and health, energy conversion, aerospace, intelligent induction and other fields.

Yizheng Chemical Fiber PTA project with an annual output of 3 million tons is the first set of PTA project with an annual output of 3 million tons of Sinopec, which is an important step for Sinopec to strengthen the aromatic industry chain, expand high-end new materials, and accelerate the construction of "one base, two wings and three new" industrial pattern, and is included in the supervision project of the Sinopec Board of Directors and the key project of Sinopec. The project meets the requirements of the Jiangsu provincial government on improving the industrial chain and strengthening the chain, and is included in the list of major projects in Jiangsu Province in 2021.

Yizheng Chemical fiber annual output of 3 million tons PTA project adopts advanced energy saving and environmental protection and short process technology route, with the advantages of large scale single equipment, green and low carbon.
