For most standalone monitoring applications, 2GB can already run smoothly on Windows 7 Embedded or Windows 10 IoT Enterprise; If you need to run virtual machines or larger data analysis software simultaneously, it is recommended to upgrade to 4GB to reserve sufficient cache space.
3.2 Storage Solution
In terms of storage, STC-15W04 uses industrial grade CFast cards as the system disk, with a standard capacity of 8GB. CFast is based on SATA interface, which has faster read and write speed and higher reliability compared to traditional CF cards. Its industrial grade specifications can adapt to a wide temperature range of -40 ° C to+85 ° C, and have features such as power down protection and wear balance, effectively extending the life of storage media in frequent data read and write scenarios. For applications that require storage of historical data or process recipes, the device also provides an additional USB port (detailed below) that can be connected to an external USB flash drive or portable hard drive to expand capacity.

4.1 Network and fieldbus interface
Dual Gigabit Ethernet ports: Equipped with Realtek 8111E controller, providing two 10/100/1000 Mbps adaptive ports. The advantage of dual network ports is that they can achieve network redundancy (such as ring network topology) or use one for connecting to the upper management network and the other for field device layer communication (such as Modbus TCP), thereby isolating data streams and improving network security.

Provide two USB 2.0 ports that can be used to connect keyboards, mice, USB storage devices, or wireless network cards. Although not equipped with USB 3.0, for HMI applications, the transfer rate of USB 2.0 is sufficient for configuration file copying and firmware upgrade requirements.
The power input adopts a 3-pin DC interface with a locking mechanism, supporting 24VDC ± 15% (i.e. 20.4V~27.6V), and includes a protective grounding (PE) connection. The locking terminal ensures that the power cord will not loosen in a vibrating environment, while the polarity reversal protection function prevents equipment damage caused by misconnection. The maximum power consumption of the whole machine is only 40W, thanks to the energy-saving characteristics of the Atom platform, which also allows the system to operate under low-power switching power supplies, which is beneficial for the heat dissipation design of the control cabinet.
