Overview

Woodward QuickTrip is an electro-hydraulic trip module component designed specifically for safe shutdown systems of steam turbines, used to quickly and reliably release the pressure in the turbine trip oil circuit. This integrated component is suitable for mechanical or power driven steam turbines and supports low-pressure (5-25 bar/73-363 psi) hydraulic trip oil system. It has high fault tolerance, fast response, and online maintainability, and is a key equipment for improving the safety and availability of steam turbine operation.

Core functions and advantages

1. Three out of two redundant design

Adopting a 2-out-of-3 voting logic to ensure that a single point of failure does not cause false tripping.

Compliant with industry standards such as API-670, API-612, API-611, etc., suitable for industrial scenarios with high reliability requirements.

2. Rapid response capability

The response time of the solenoid valve is less than 30 milliseconds, ensuring that the tripping system operates quickly in emergency situations.

The overall system design aims to close the trip valve as quickly as possible, reducing the risk of accident spread.

3. Anti dirt design

The non clogging orifice plate structure avoids system failures caused by oil contamination.

Featuring a 25 pound chip shear force and a self-cleaning valve port design, it is suitable for harsh environments where oil contains impurities, metal shavings, water, or chemical pollutants.

4. Online testability and maintainability

Support online testing of each tripping branch to verify system response time and functional integrity.

Modular design allows for the replacement of key components such as solenoid valves, electrical modules, and power supplies during turbine operation without the need for shutdown.

5. Safety certification and compliance

Passed IEC 61508 safety certification, suitable for SIL-3 and below safety integrity level systems.

Compliant with multiple explosion and safety standards such as ATEX, GOST-R, T Ü V, etc., suitable for hazardous areas worldwide.

6. Local and remote status indication

Each branch is equipped with red and green dual color LED indicator lights, which can intuitively display the "running" and "tripping" status.

Integrated limit switch, supporting remote signal output to DCS or safety system for easy status monitoring and diagnosis.

7. Compact structure and easy installation

Compact structure, can be installed near the steam turbine, reducing the length of trip pipelines and system delays.

Provide multiple installation bolt hole positions, supporting installation in any posture.
