Technical principle
The ABB AO2000-LS25 laser analyser is based on Tunable Diode Laser Absorption Spectroscopy (TDLAS) technology and measures the average gas concentration along the line-of-sight path by means of a transmitter/receiver configuration. The measurement principle is infrared single-line absorption spectroscopy, i.e. each gas has a different absorption line at a specific wavelength. The analyser calculates the concentration of the target gas by scanning the selected absorption lines of the gas to be measured and detecting the change in light intensity with respect to the laser wavelength. In order to improve the measurement sensitivity, the analyser also adopts the wavelength modulation technology.
Instrument components
The ABB AO2000-LS25 laser analyser consists of three independent units:
Transmitter unit with purging: comprising the laser module, the temperature stabilised diode laser, the collimating optics and the main electronics, which are responsible for transmitting the laser light and measuring the light intensity.
Receiver unit with purge function: contains a focusing lens, photodetector and receiver electronics, which receives the laser light absorbed by the gas and converts it into an electrical signal for processing.
Power supply unit: provides the required power supply for the transmitter and receiver.
