The Alcatel-Lucent STGR-LIM-A2P-72-HBI is a high-density ADSL2+ line interface module designed for the Alcatel-Lucent Stinger DSLAM family. This module provides 72 subscriber ports, each supporting ADSL2+ annexes A, B, and M, enabling service providers to deliver triple-play services—voice, data, and video—over existing copper infrastructure.
With 72 ports per module, the STGR-LIM-A2P-72-HBI offers exceptional density, reducing chassis space and per-subscriber cost. Each port supports downstream rates up to 24 Mbps and upstream up to 3.5 Mbps (with Annex M), ideal for high-bandwidth applications such as streaming IPTV, online gaming, and cloud storage. The module aggregates traffic via a high-speed backplane connection to the Stinger switch fabric.
The module integrates advanced ATM segmentation and reassembly (SAR) as well as Ethernet-over-ATM (EoA) encapsulation. It supports multiple permanent virtual circuits (PVCs) per port, enabling service differentiation. The card also handles traffic shaping, policing, and priority queuing, ensuring quality of service (QoS) for delay-sensitive traffic like VoIP.
Built-in line test features include SELT, DELT, and MELT for loop qualification and fault isolation. The module can perform reach and noise margin measurements, allowing operators to provision services accurately. It also supports G.992.1, G.992.3, and G.992.5 standards, with backward compatibility to ADSL and READSL.
The module operates with low power consumption per port, aided by power management per subscriber line. It is designed for central office and remote terminal environments, with a temperature range of 0°C to 45°C. The module's compact form factor and front-access connectors simplify cabling and maintenance.
Fully compatible with Stinger FS, Stinger FS+, and Stinger Compact chassis, this module can be combined with other line cards for mixed service configurations. Multiple modules can be deployed to support thousands of subscribers, making it suitable for both urban and rural broadband expansions.
Managed through the Stinger's command-line interface or via element management systems using SNMP and TL1. The module supports remote firmware upgrades and configuration backups. Extensive performance monitoring counters provide real-time data on traffic, errors, and signal quality.
Ideal for incumbent operators upgrading their copper plants to VDSL-ready infrastructure, as well as competitive carriers offering cost-effective broadband in underserved areas. The module also supports wholesale DSL services, allowing multiple ISPs to share the same physical line.
The Alcatel-Lucent STGR-LIM-A2P-72-HBI ADSL2+ High Bandwidth Module is a powerful, scalable solution for modern DSL networks. Its high port density, robust feature set, and compliance with industry standards make it an essential component for delivering next-generation broadband services.
