The HIMA F3330 is a dedicated power supply module designed to provide regulated 24 V DC to the backplane of HIMA F30 and F60 I/O racks. As a critical component in safety-related automation systems, it ensures stable operation of I/O modules and communication interfaces. The F3330 can be used in single or redundant configurations to meet high availability requirements up to SIL 3 environments.
Input voltage: 24 V DC nominal (18 … 32 V DC)
Output power: 50 W (typical)
Efficiency: > 85%
Overvoltage protection: yes, with automatic shutdown
Short-circuit protection: current limiting, auto-recovery
Isolation: reinforced isolation between input and output
For SIL 3 applications requiring maximum power availability, two F3330 modules can be mounted in parallel with decoupling diodes (external or integrated in the backplane). In such a configuration, a failure in one supply module does not affect system operation, and the failed unit can be replaced online. The module includes status relays to indicate output health, which can be wired to the safety controller for remote alarm management.
The F3330 provides comprehensive diagnostics including:
Output voltage monitoring with LED indication (green = OK, red = fault)
Over-temperature warning
Input undervoltage detection
Internal fuse status (accessible without disassembly)
All diagnostic signals are accessible via the front-panel connectors and can be integrated into the plant’s control system for predictive maintenance.

The module mounts directly into the F30 or F60 backplane and supplies power to adjacent I/O modules through the bus bars. It does not consume an I/O slot, preserving space for functional modules. The F3330 is compatible with all HIMA controllers and I/O modules that operate on 24 V DC backplane power.
Although the power supply itself is not a safety function, its reliability is essential for maintaining the safety integrity of the overall system. The F3330 is designed to minimize failure rates and is included in HIMA’s safety manuals for system architecture planning. When used in redundant arrangements, it contributes to the system’s overall availability and SIL capability.
Dimensions: 128 x 100 x 45 mm (H x W x D)
Weight: approx. 280 g
Operating temperature: -20 °C … +60 °C
Storage temperature: -40 °C … +85 °C
Protection class: IP20 (installed in rack)
The HIMA F3330 carries CE marking, UL 61010-1 approval, and is suitable for use in safety instrumented systems up to SIL 3 when applied according to HIMA system manuals. It complies with RoHS and REACH environmental directives.
The HIMA F3330 provides a robust, monitored power foundation for safety I/O racks, combining compact design with diagnostic capabilities essential for modern safety instrumented systems.
