INTRODUCTION

The Thor™ CV31 is a vehicle-mount computer that is rugged, versatile and built on the Microsoft® Windows® Embedded Compact 7 (CE 7.0) operating system. CV31 Front View What’s New This version of the user manual contains new and updated information: • Updated the information about “How to Reset the Computer,” as well as added new information about “How to Clean Boot the Computer” to Chapter 5. • Added the headset jack pinouts to Appendix A. The CV31 with a Texas Instruments WL1273 802.11a/b/g/n radio installed is Wi-Fi® certified for interoperability with other 802.11a/b/g/n wireless LAN devices.

How to Supply Power to the CV31

The accessories you use to supply power to the CV31 depends on whether you want to replace a CV30 and keep your existing wiring or perform a new installation: 

• To replace a CV30 and keep your existing wiring, you need to purchase an adapter cable (P/N VE027-8024-C0). 

• To perform a new installation, you need to know the electrical rating of your CV31 and the vehicle you are installing it on to determine which power supply to use.

Honeywell's in-vehicle computers are typically designed to be small and compact to minimise obstruction of the driver's view and to optimise the use of space in the vehicle.

The Thor CV31-like design may mean that the CV31A has a similar compact look.

High Definition Display:

Equipped with an easy-to-view display that may support multi-touch to allow the driver to quickly access and enter information while on the road.

The display size may be close to or similar to the Thor CV31's 6.5-inch display.

May run Microsoft Windows Embedded Compact or other operating systems suitable for in-vehicle environments.

Voice-Oriented Workflow:

Similar to the Thor CV31, the CV31A may also support voice-guided workflow for improved operational efficiency and safety through Honeywell's Voice™ technology.

Compatibility and Expandability:

May be compatible with Honeywell or other brands of in-vehicle equipment, scanners, keyboards, and other accessories to protect users' existing investments.

Provides multiple interfaces and expansion options to meet the needs of different application scenarios.

Intelligent Power Management:

May be equipped with intelligent power management systems, such as optional built-in power converters and ignition control features, to reduce the risk of vehicle battery depletion and reduce maintenance costs and lost productivity.

Durability and Reliability:

Given the complexity of the in-vehicle environment, the CV31A may have a high protection rating (e.g., IP66) against moisture, dust, and particulate matter.

The ability to operate over a wide temperature range ensures stable operation in a variety of climatic conditions.
