Technical Characteristics

(i) Precise analogue signal processing

The GE IS220PAICH2B analogue input/output module has extremely high analogue signal processing accuracy. In terms of analogue input, it can accurately measure the analogue signals output from various types of sensors, such as voltage signals from temperature sensors and current signals from pressure sensors. 

The module's analogue input has a resolution of up to 16 bits, which means that it is able to subdivide the input signal into 65,536 different levels for accurate signal perception. For example, for an input voltage signal of 0 - 10V, the module can accurately distinguish voltage variations down to about 0.153mV, providing an extremely accurate data base for industrial control systems. 

In terms of analogue output, the module also performs well, being able to output stable analogue signals with a high degree of accuracy, with an output precision of ±0.1% FS (full scale). For example, when a 4 - 20mA standard current signal is required to control an actuator, the module ensures that the error of the output current over the entire range is controlled within a very small range, ensuring accurate actuator operation. 

(ii) Unique 200mA current loop technology

The module is equipped with 200mA current loop has many advantages. As a commonly used industrial signal transmission method, the current loop has stronger anti-interference ability than voltage signal transmission. In complex industrial environments where electromagnetic interference is ubiquitous, 200mA current loops are able to effectively resist such interference and ensure the reliability of signal transmission. 

It works by converting an analogue signal into a current signal for transmission and then converting the current signal back into an analogue signal at the receiving end. During long-distance transmission, the current signal is not easily affected by line resistance, capacitance and other factors, and the signal attenuation is extremely small. For example, in a large factory, the distance between the sensor and the control system may be hundreds of metres, the GE IS220PAICH2B module connected with a 200mA current loop can stably transmit the signal to ensure the accurate data collection and the reliable delivery of control commands. In addition, the 200mA current loop has a short-circuit protection function, which allows the module to automatically limit the current in the event of a short-circuit, protecting itself and the connected equipment from damage.
