Lauer PCS811 Interbus-S Interface Module
The Lauer PCS811 (version 811.000.3) is a specialized interface module designed to connect Interbus-S fieldbus networks to automation controllers and other devices. Interbus-S is a high-speed, deterministic fieldbus widely used in factory automation for remote I/O and drive control. This module acts as a slave or master, facilitating seamless integration of Interbus-S segments into larger control architectures, with optical or electrical isolation to ensure signal integrity in noisy environments.
Technical Specifications
Interbus-S Ports: 1 x 9-pin D-sub (RS485), 1 x fiber optic (optional).
Host Interface: 1 x RS232, 1 x Ethernet 10/100 for configuration.

Protocol: Interbus-S (standard), supports cyclic and acyclic data.
Address Range: Up to 64 slaves.
Diagnostics: LED for bus status, error, and power.
Power Supply: 24 V DC (18–30 V), consumption 3 W.
Isolation: 1500 V between fieldbus and host.
Operating Temperature: 0 °C to 50 °C.
Mounting: DIN rail.
Dimensions: 90 x 60 x 40 mm.
Weight: 0.25 kg.
Functional Features
The PCS811 supports the full Interbus-S protocol stack, including automatic baud rate detection, bus parameterization, and error handling. It can be configured as a master to control an Interbus-S network, or as a slave to attach to an existing master. The module includes a web-based configuration interface for setting node addresses, I/O mapping, and diagnostic filters. It also supports data logging and can forward alarms to a higher-level SCADA system.
The fiber optic option provides galvanic isolation and immunity to electromagnetic interference, suitable for long-distance runs or high-voltage environments. The module includes a real-time clock for time-stamping events.
Installation Guidelines
Mount on DIN rail. Connect the Interbus-S cable (shielded twisted pair) to the D-sub connector; for fiber, use appropriate connectors. Set the address via DIP switches. Connect the host interface (RS232 or Ethernet) for configuration. Ensure proper grounding of the shield.
Operating Conditions
Indoor industrial use, 0–50 °C, humidity<90%. Vibration 0.5 g.
Applications
Connecting Interbus-S remote I/O, drives, and sensors to a PLC or PC-based control system.
Compliance
CE, UL, RoHS.
Ordering Variants
Options: fiber optic port, extended temperature, and additional host interfaces (USB, CAN).
