In high-end multi-channel testing systems, slot capacity, power supply, and system bandwidth often determine the overall upper limit of the platform. ADLINK PXES-2785 is an 18 slot PXI Express chassis based on PCIe Gen3 technology, providing 1 system slot, 1 system timing slot, 6 hybrid peripheral slots, and 10 PXIe dedicated peripheral slots. The total system bandwidth is up to 24 GB/s (2-link x8 x16 Gen3), and all peripheral slots support PCIe x8 Gen3 links. The single slot bandwidth can reach 8 GB/s, providing sufficient bandwidth guarantee for high-throughput data acquisition and real-time processing. The chassis adopts a modular and maintainable design, and the power module and fan can be replaced on site, significantly reducing the mean time to repair (MTTR). Industrial grade AC power supply can output up to 1170 W (200~240 VAC input) below 45 ° C, and can still output 990 W at 55 ° C. Each slot has a maximum cooling capacity of 82 W, and is equipped with Normal/Boost dual-mode intelligent fan control to meet the cooling needs of different power consumption modules. In addition, the chassis provides BNC 10 MHz reference clock input/output, software configurable three-stage trigger bus bridging, remote management LAN ports, and suppression/voltage monitoring DB-9 interface, and supports remote status monitoring through SMBus or Ethernet.

Slot 1: System controller slot, supporting a maximum of 4 slot width controllers, using 2-link x8 x16 Gen3 uplink, with a total bandwidth of 24 GB/s;

2.1 Unboxing and Attachment Confirmation
The standard packaging includes the PXES-2785 chassis, power cord (US/EU), and filler panel kit (1 3-channel panel and 18 1-channel panels). Optional rack installation kit (part number 3.91-95126-0010, compatible with PXES-2780). Check for transportation damage and contact the dealer immediately for any missing items.
2.2 Power Budget Calculation
The sum of power consumption of the computing system controller and all peripheral modules must simultaneously meet the following requirements:
The total power consumption shall not exceed the maximum DC output power at the corresponding input voltage and ambient temperature (see previous section);
The current of each voltage rail shall not exceed the limit of backplane slot allocation (Table 1-3): system slot+12V/30A,+3.3V/15A,+5V/15A; Mixing tank+12V/6A,+3.3V/9A,+5V/6A, etc.
2.3 Dual mode intelligent fan and cooling configuration
The PXES-2785 is equipped with three 220 CFM fans at the rear, with bottom intake and rear exhaust. There are two switches at the back of the chassis that work together to control heat dissipation:
Fan Mode Switch:
Normal: Suitable for modules with a power consumption of ≤ 38 W per slot, balancing heat dissipation and noise;
Boost: Suitable for modules with a power consumption of 38-82 W per slot, enhancing ventilation performance. If the ambient temperature exceeds 45 ° C, it must be set to Boost mode.
