Functional Features
The PCs 811 supports all Interbus-S standard functions, including automatic bus parameterization, error detection, and recovery. It can operate as a master or slave, depending on system configuration. The module includes a built-in web server for remote monitoring and diagnostics (when Ethernet is fitted). It also supports data logging and alarm forwarding via the host interface.
The fiber optic option provides electrical isolation and immunity to electromagnetic interference, suitable for long-distance runs (up to 2 km) or high-voltage areas. The module includes a real-time clock for time-stamping events and a watchdog timer for system reliability.
Installation Guidelines
Mount the module on a DIN rail. Connect the Interbus-S cable (shielded twisted pair) to the D-sub connector; for fiber, use appropriate connectors. Set the node address and baud rate via DIP switches. Connect the host interface (RS232 or Ethernet) for configuration. Ensure proper grounding of the cable shield. Terminate the bus with 220 Ω resistors if the module is at the end of the network.
Configure the module using the supplied software tool or via the web interface. Test the communication with the Interbus-S master.
