The SAMWONTECH TLC990ME-83 is a modular multi‑channel temperature controller designed for high‑density industrial applications. Part of SamwonTech's TLC990 series, this controller supports up to 1,280 control channels, making it ideal for complex heating, cooling, and cascade control systems in plastics, packaging, and thermal processing industries.
The system is built around Control Units (CU) and Main Units (MU). Each CU provides 4 universal analog input channels, accepting thermocouples (K, J, E, T, R, B, S, L, N, U, W, PL, C), RTDs (Pt100, JPt100), and DC voltage/current signals (0‑10V, 4‑20mA with external resistors). A single MU supports up to 5 CUs, for a total of 20 analog inputs per base configuration. Through expansion, the system can handle up to 1,280 channels, offering exceptional scalability.
The controller features a high‑resolution 18‑bit ADC with an accuracy of ±0.1% FS. Control outputs include relay (3A), SSR pulse (15VDC), or analog signals (4‑20mA, 0‑10V) via a 14‑bit DAC. The sampling period is 250 ms per channel. A comprehensive set of 21 alarm types, heater break alarm (HBA) support for 12A/50A/100A, and self‑diagnostic software ensure reliable operation. Communication is via RS‑232C, RS‑422A, or RS‑485 with MODBUS RTU at up to 115,200 bps.

The TLC990ME-83 includes PID autotuning for automatic parameter optimization, reducing setup time and ensuring stable control. The self‑diagnostic software verifies installation status, while built‑in alarm functions prevent misoperation. A power‑saving mode reduces energy consumption by optimizing MV output. Users can modify all TLC data directly from a PLC or PC, and the module supports communication with PCs, PLCs, and touch panels without needing individual RUN/STOP triggers.
This controller is widely used in injection molding machines, extruders, ovens, packaging machinery, and laboratory equipment. Its high channel density and flexible configuration also make it suitable for semiconductor thermal processing and chemical reactor control, where precise temperature regulation is critical.
