I. Overview of the new energy automobile industry

According to the 2019 revised definition of new energy vehicles in the Classification of National Economic Industries (GB/T4754-2017), the manufacturing of new energy vehicles refers to the use of new power systems, completely or mainly rely on new energy driven vehicles, including plug-in hybrid (including extended range) vehicles, pure electric vehicles and fuel cell electric vehicles. There are many types of new energy vehicles, according to the different driving methods, mainly divided into three categories, including hybrid electric vehicles, pure electric vehicles, fuel cell electric vehicles, etc., which hybrid electric vehicles are composed of more than two drive systems, its driving power is relatively large; Pure electric vehicle is a single battery to provide electric energy to the motor, so as to drive the motor to ensure the normal running of the car; Fuel cell electric vehicles are different from hybrid electric vehicles and pure electric vehicles, and the electricity generated by it is through the joint action of oxygen and hydrogen, a series of chemical reactions occur, and then drive the car.

Ii. Policies related to China's new energy vehicle industry

In order to accelerate the promotion and application of new energy vehicles and promote the pilot demonstration of interaction between new energy vehicles and power grid energy, China has successively issued many policies, such as the Implementation Opinions on Further Improving the service guarantee ability of electric vehicle charging infrastructure issued by the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration in 2022. Explore the implementation path for new energy vehicles to participate in the electricity spot market, and study and improve the trading and scheduling mechanism for new energy vehicles to consume and store green electricity.

Third, the new energy automobile industry chain

In the upstream field of new energy vehicles, the three major systems of power battery, drive motor and electronic control are the core components of the whole vehicle, and the "three electric systems" in the upstream play a decisive role in the production process of new energy vehicles; Downstream mainly for passenger transport, logistics industry and residential consumers.

In recent years, the demand for lithium batteries of 3C products has steadily increased, and with the gradual expansion of the market size of new energy vehicles and the expansion of the demand for energy storage batteries, the production scale of lithium batteries in China has expanded year by year. In 2022, China's lithium-ion battery production of 23.928 billion, an increase of 2.85%. In the future, benefiting from the continuous expansion of new energy application scenarios and the increase in demand for power batteries, China's lithium battery shipments will increase year by year. Accordingly, the demand for machine vision-related testing equipment and intelligent manufacturing equipment in the lithium battery field will continue to increase.

Iv. Analysis of the development status of the new energy automobile industry

In the 21st century, the development of electric vehicles has become the strategic focus of many countries and major automobile manufacturers in the world to cope with energy and environmental challenges, and the world's new energy automobile industry has entered a period of comprehensive upgrading. Global carbon emission reduction actions are deepening, and the number of new energy vehicles driven by electrification in the transportation sector is increasing. Data show that in 2021, global electric vehicle sales of 6.768 million, an increase of 108.63%; In 2022, global electric vehicle sales reached 10.522 million, an increase of 55.47% year-on-year.

Under the dual role of policy and market, in 2022, China's new energy automobile industry has entered a period of comprehensive marketization and expansion, and the penetration rate has increased rapidly. In terms of scale, China has become the world's largest new energy vehicle market, with production and sales ranking first in the world for eight consecutive years. According to statistics, in 2022, the output of China's new energy vehicles will be 7.0582 million, an increase of 96.9%. In 2022, the sales volume of China's new energy vehicles will be 6.887 million, an increase of 93.4%, and the penetration rate will reach 25.6%. The phased goal of 2025 set in the "New Energy Automobile Industry Development Plan (2021-2035)" has been completed ahead of schedule, and it has entered the outbreak period of scale expansion and the expansion period of comprehensive marketization. Although the development of China's new energy automobile industry has achieved certain results, the industry still has problems such as insufficient supply of key core technologies, unbalanced and inadequate comprehensive market-oriented development, and support and security capabilities to be improved.

According to statistics, by the end of 2022, the number of new energy vehicles in the country reached 13.1 million, accounting for 4.10% of the total number of vehicles, and excluding scrap injection sales increased by 5.26 million over 2021, an increase of 67.13%. Among them, the number of pure electric vehicles was 10.45 million, accounting for 79.78% of the total number of new energy vehicles. In 2022, 5.35 million new energy vehicles were newly registered nationwide, accounting for 23.05% of the total number of newly registered vehicles, an increase of 2.4 million compared with the previous year, an increase of 81.48%. The number of newly registered new energy vehicles has grown rapidly from 1.07 million in 2018 to 5.35 million in 2022.
