China's shipbuilding international market share has ranked first in the world for 13 consecutive years

The economic operation of China's shipbuilding industry in 2022 is stable and good on the whole. The shipbuilding market share has remained a global leader, new breakthroughs have been made in high-end equipment, the resilience and safety of the industrial chain and supply chain have been improved, the destocking of Marine engineering equipment has achieved remarkable results, and the quality of economic operations has significantly improved. Specifically, there are six characteristics:

First, the international market share continues to lead, and the competitiveness of backbone enterprises is enhanced. In 2022, China's shipbuilding international market share has ranked first in the world for 13 consecutive years, and its position as a shipbuilding country has been further consolidated. China's shipbuilding completions, new orders and hand-held orders accounted for 47.3%, 55.2% and 49.0% of the world's total deadweight tons, respectively. China's backbone ship enterprises maintain strong international competitiveness, respectively, six enterprises entered the world's shipbuilding completion volume, new orders and hand-held orders in the top 10.

Second, new breakthroughs have been made in high-end equipment, and green-powered ships have grown rapidly. In 2022, China's shipping enterprises continue to increase research and development efforts, and make new breakthroughs in the field of high-tech ships and offshore engineering equipment. Fourth, the demand for offshore oil and gas equipment is expanding, and the effect of "destocking" is obvious. In 2022, the high volatility of international oil prices has led to the expansion of global offshore oil and gas equipment market demand, and domestic offshore engineering equipment enterprises have seized the opportunity to achieve positive results in "destocking".

Fifth, seize the favorable opportunity of the market, and the industry efficiency has improved. In 2022, shipping enterprises reduce costs and increase efficiency by strengthening the plan management of shipbuilding nodes, implementing intelligent transformation of production lines, and strengthening cost management. From January to November, the efficiency of shipping enterprises was significantly improved, and the profit margin of main income rose to 3.0%.

Sixth, the effect of structural adjustment is obvious, and the quality of new ship orders continues to improve. In 2022, China's shipping enterprises will consolidate their leading position in the market of advantageous ship types and consolidate the foundation of new ship orders, and a total of 12 new ship types in China among the 18 major ship types in the world will rank first in the world.
