Main components and functions
CPU
The entry-level CPU is embedded on the backplane, the mid-range and above CPUs are modular, and the high-performance CPU is based on the 386EX processor.
Different models of CPUs have differences in Boolean execution speed, user logic memory, I/O points, etc., and support multiple communication options and fieldbus/device networks.

Divided into 5 slots and 10 slots, there are types such as CPU backplane, expansion backplane, and remote backplane.
Expansion backboards and remote backboards have different maximum distance limits, sizes, and internal power sources used.
Power module
Easy to install, compatible with any type of CPU, customizable range, with current limiting function.
According to the CPU performance classification, it is classified as simple level, fail safe level, and fault-tolerant level, and some models support redundant power supply.
I/O module
Discrete I/O module: The input module is connected to external input devices, and the output module is connected to external output devices, supporting parameters such as different voltage ranges and currents.
Analog I/O module: used to control processes such as flow, temperature, and pressure, with different channel numbers, ranges, resolutions, and other characteristics.
There are also special I/O modules such as millivolt I/O modules, RTD input modules, strain gauge I/O modules, temperature control modules, thermocouple I/O modules, etc.
