NuPRO-865 onboard Intel 82547GI Gigabit Ethernet card. If the network port indicator light is not on or the system cannot recognize the IP.
Inspection item: Confirm that the "CSA LAN (Giga LAN)" option is set to "Enabled" in the "Onboard Device" under "Integrated Peripherals" in the BIOS.
Boot ROM settings: If you need to use network boot (PXE), you need to enable "Onboard Lan Boot ROM" under the same menu.
3. Watch Dog Timer settings:
For unmanned industrial systems, the watchdog function is crucial. If the watchdog does not trigger a reset when the system crashes, it will cause the device to crash. The watchdog setting of NuPRO-865 is usually controlled through JP2 jumper:
JP2 setting: If set to "1-2", trigger NMI (non maskable interrupt); If set to "2-3" (default), the system reset will be triggered. Please check the jumper position according to the requirements of the upper computer software.
Chapter 4: I/O Interface and Peripheral Connection Failure
Vibration in industrial sites can easily cause loose wiring, and NuPRO-865 provides a variety of I/O interfaces that should be addressed one by one during troubleshooting.
1. Display output abnormality (VGA):
If the CRT monitor has no image, first check if the 15 pin D-Sub interface of CN17 (CRT VGA Port Connector) is bent. If the color of the screen is off color (such as missing red), check the connection of the red, green, and blue signal lines corresponding to pins 1, 2, and 3.
2. Serial communication (COM1/COM2) malfunction:
NuPRO-865 provides two RS-232 serial ports. COM1 is the standard DB9 male seat (CN11), and COM2 is the onboard 10 pin pin set (CN10).
Key point of investigation: Check whether the cable follows the standard definition of cross or direct connection. Pay special attention to the 9th pin of CN10 being Ground and the 10th pin being Ground, ensuring that the wiring is correct. If garbled characters appear, check if the baud rate setting conflicts with the "Console redirection" setting in the BIOS (default Baud Rate is 19200).
3. Insufficient power supply to USB interface:
The manual provides definitions for 9-pin pin headers for USB0/1 (CN13) and USB2/3 (CN15). If the external USB hard drive cannot be recognized, it may be due to insufficient power supply. Check if the VCC (+5V) voltage of the first and second pins is normal.
4. PS/2 keyboard and mouse malfunction:
If using a Y-shaped cable to connect the keyboard and mouse to CN19 (PS/2 Mini Din 6-pin interface), please note that the first pin is Keyboard Data and the second pin is Mouse Data. If the keyboard cannot input, check if the cable is plugged in incorrectly and confirm that the "USB Keyboard Support" option in the BIOS is not erroneously enabled (this option should be disabled if using a PS/2 keyboard).


Chapter 5: Power Supply and Monitoring (PC Health Status)
Power quality is the cornerstone of stable operation of industrial single board computers. NuPRO-865 uses ATX power interface (CN12) and auxiliary 12V power supply (CN2).
1. Unable to soft boot:
Check if the 3rd pin (PWRON) and 4th pin (Ground) of CN12 (ATX Control Power Connector) are correctly connected to the front panel switch of the chassis. Short circuit PWRON to ground to simulate power on signal.
2. Voltage monitoring:
Entering the "PC Health Status" menu in BIOS is an important basis for determining whether the hardware is healthy.
Core voltage: Monitor whether Vcore (CPU core voltage) is around 1.4V-1.5V (depending on CPU model), and whether+12V is within a reasonable fluctuation range of 11.9V-12.5V.
Temperature threshold: If the "Current CPU1 Temperature" exceeds 70 ° C in standby mode, the cooling system needs to be checked immediately.
Fan speed: Monitor CPU Fan Speed and System Fan Speed. If the speed is too low (such as below 1000 RPM), please replace the fan, otherwise the system may trigger "Shutdown Temperature".
Chapter 6: System Startup Process and Alarm Sound Interpretation
If there is no display on NuPRO-865 after power on, but the buzzer (Speaker) sound can be heard, it can be quickly located through code:
No alarm and fan running but no screen: usually due to poor CPU or memory connection. Please repeat the operation in Chapter 2 and check if the Speaker pins (SPKR pin 2 and BUZZ pin 4) of CN1 (System Panel Indicator Connector) are connected to the buzzer.
Memory alarm (continuous long sound): The memory module is not tightly inserted or the particles are damaged.
Graphics card alarm (one long and two short): Although the board is equipped with VGA, if there is an independent graphics card, check the "Init Display First" setting (Onboard/AGP or PCI Slot).
Chapter 7: Firmware Upgrade and Advanced Repair
When routine troubleshooting is ineffective, consider refreshing the BIOS.
Operation process: Obtain the corresponding Phoenix Ward BIOS file from the ADLINK official website and create a DOS boot disk.
Security recovery: If BIOS refresh fails, you can use the JP1 Clear CMOS jumper to forcibly restore the default settings and try again.
