8.3 Tool locking mechanism
Tools may be locked for various reasons (see Table 9-3 in the manual), common locking events and unlocking methods:
E102 (Lock on Reject): Due to the NOK result being locked, it can be unlocked by entering the number "Unlock tool" or reversing the direction ring.
E133 (ToolsTalk lock): Disabled by PC software, requires sending the "Enable tool" command.
E137 (Fieldbus Lock): Disabled by PLC via bus, also requires an enable signal.
E206 (Invalid Pset Number): A non-existent Pset has been selected in the job. A valid Pset needs to be re selected or the job needs to be terminated.
Logic Configurator (exclusive to PF4000)
Logic Configurator provides basic PLC functions, which can combine logic gates (AND, OR, XOR, etc.) and function blocks (timers, triggers, counters) to achieve small control logic without the need for an external PLC. For example, when two proximity switches are triggered simultaneously, the tightening cycle is automatically initiated.
When configuring, first create a Logic Set in ToolsTalk PF, define input events (from digital inputs or internal signals), build logic circuits in the grid, and finally map the output to relays or digital outputs. This circuit is evaluated every 100ms or immediately when the input state changes.
Interpretation and Handling of Event Codes
Chapter 25 of the manual provides a detailed list of all event codes. The following are on-site high-frequency faults and response strategies:

E003 Torque measurement may be invalid due to improper programming of the DS tool. The Pset strategy is checked for angle increments in the second paragraph to ensure that there are sufficient angles in the second paragraph
E102 Lock on Reject: NOK tightening occurs and Lock on Reject is enabled. Press unlock input or reverse direction ring
E112 Rehit checks the process flow of the tightened bolts again to avoid duplication
E126 Multistage aborted triggers incomplete viewing of sub information parameters in multi-stage, positioning failure stage
E131 Tool Disconnected Tool Cable Loose or Logic Disconnected Reconnect Tool, or Perform "Disconnect Tool" and Reconnect
E501 Tool Overheated: If the tool temperature exceeds the allowable value, stop the machine for cooling, check for heat dissipation, or reduce the load cycle
E511 Tool size mismatch tool does not match the power level of the controller (such as S7 tool connected to S9 controller). Replace the matching tool or reconfigure the controller type
E870 Sync member registration failure: Check the uniqueness of each member's Channel ID and Sync reference IP in the Sync group if there are duplicate Channel IDs or incorrect IP settings
Memory configuration and data management
PF4000 supports 250 Psets, 99 Jobs, and 5000 result records by default. By using the 'Completely configurable' mode, the number of items can be adjusted (such as increasing the result storage to 9000 and reducing Pset to 100). Changing the storage configuration will clear all existing data (except for IP addresses), so be sure to use the "Store PF to file" backup configuration before operation.
