Woodward QuickTrip Electro-Hydraulic Trip Block Assembly

Product Overview and Core Advantages

The QuickTrip trip block components adopt a triple redundancy and fault-tolerant design, implementing a 2-out-of-3 voting mechanism to ensure safe operation of the system in the event of a single component failure. Its design goal is to quickly and reliably release the turbine trip oil circuit under extreme working conditions, suitable for applications that use hydraulic trip systems and have extremely high requirements for reliability and safety.

Design Technology and Similarity Analysis

The design of QuickTrip is highly similar to Woodward's existing products CPC II (electro-hydraulic pressure regulating valve) and VariStroke I (linear electro-hydraulic actuator), with strong technical commonality. As of the publication of the manual, there have been over 3500 on-site application records of these two types of products, and the technology is mature and reliable.

Verification of dirt tolerance and durability

Pollution tolerance test:

QuickTrip completed validation testing in highly polluted hydraulic oil containing iron oxide and Arizona road dust without any tripping failures. Its corrosion-resistant materials, rotary valve design, and self-cleaning ports ensure reliable operation even in the presence of pollutants such as sludge, moisture, and metal shavings.

Durability life test:

Design life verification: Simulate daily tripping within 20 years (7300 times in total), and actually complete 21000 cycle tests (approximately 3 times the design life)

Ultra long life marginal test: completed an additional 1 million trip cycles, equivalent to over 2700 years of daily operation, with no abnormal wear on any key components (valve core, sleeve, spring, bearing, etc.)

Vibration and Shock Testing: Conducted in accordance with MIL-STD-810C (Shock) and MIL-STD-810F (Vibration) standards, with no faults or false tripping
