The data manual emphasizes the wiring safety of the brake:

In elevator applications, drives that require rapid braking response, and CFC and SERVO operating modes, the brakes must be simultaneously cut off on both the DC and AC sides.

If the brake rectifier is installed in the control cabinet, the connecting cable between the brake rectifier and the brake must be laid separately from other power cables. If it is necessary to share the same slot, the power cable must be shielded.

The connection of the brake must follow the wiring sequence, as incorrect connections can cause irreversible damage to the brake.

Units with sizes 1, 2, and 2S do not have PE connection points next to the power terminal and motor terminal. In this case, a DC bus should be used to connect the PE terminal next to (X4).

1.8 Braking resistor protection

Braking resistor (BW series) requires overload protection:

BW... - Model: Must be equipped with either an internal temperature switch or an external bimetallic relay (F16).

BW... -003/BW... -005: Adequate protection is already available, and external bimetallic relays can also be used as an additional option.

When the temperature switch or bimetallic relay is triggered, the main contactor K11 must be disconnected and a "0" signal must be given to DI00 (controller disable). It is strictly prohibited to interrupt the resistance circuit.

1.9 Size 7 DC Power Supply Unit

For size 7 units, the technical parameters of the DC power supply unit are:

Rated current: AC 2.4 A

Surge current: AC 30 A (380-500V input)

Attention: When using the backup power mode through the power unit, it is not allowed to connect an external+24V power supply to the X10:9 control terminal, otherwise an error message will be triggered.

MOVIDRIVE ®  MDR60A/61B and MDX62B UL requirements

The MDR series is a regenerative power unit used to feed back DC bus energy to the grid or as a braking module.

2.1 On site wiring power terminals

MDR60A0150-0750 and MDR61B1600-2500: Use only 60/75 ° C copper wires

MDX62B1600-2500: Use only 75 ° C copper wire

2.2 Rated short-circuit current

MDR60A0150-0750 and MDR61B1600-2500: When these regenerative power units are installed together with the corresponding MOVIDRIVE inverters, the system can mark the short-circuit rating of the inverters. The maximum voltage is 500V.

MDX62B1600-2500: also suitable for circuits with 200000A or 65000A (with Type E combination controller).

2.4 Overload Protection and Environmental Temperature

MDX62B1600-2500 also provides overload protection of 150% of the rated current of the motor.

The derating of MDR60A0150-0750: between 40 ° C and 60 ° C, the derating decreases by 3.0% for every 1 ° C increase.

The derating of MDR61B1600-2500 and MDX62B1600-2500 is 2.5%/° C between 40-50 ° C and 3.0%/° C between 50-60 ° C.

2.5 DC bus connection

The data manual provides three schematic diagrams of DC bus connections:

Connect to MDR60A0150/0370/0750 regenerative power supply unit

MDR60A0150 is used as a brake module connection

MDR61B1600/2500 connected to MOVIDRIVE MDX61B/62B size 7 units

These wiring diagrams emphasize the correct connection method of the DC busbar and the reliable grounding of the protective conductor (PE).


MOVIDRIVE ®  Compact UL requirements

MOVIDRIVE ®  The compact series is a compact frequency converter with high integration, suitable for applications with limited space.
