BENTLY 3500/15 125840-02: Powering Mission-Critical Protection
Reliable Energy Conversion
The BENTLY 3500/15 125840-02 is the primary energy source for the 3500 Machinery Protection System. This module converts external AC line voltage into the precise, regulated DC voltages required by the backplane to power monitoring modules, transducers, and communication gateways. The 125840-02 is engineered for high efficiency, minimizing heat generation within the instrumentation cabinet.
Redundancy for High Availability
In critical machinery protection, power failure is not an option. The 3500/15 system supports dual-redundant power supplies. By installing two 125840-02 modules in a single rack, the system ensures that if one supply fails, the second immediately assumes the full load without any interruption to monitoring or protection logic. This seamless transition is vital for preventing false trips and maintaining safety oversight.
Advanced Input Filtering and Protection
Industrial power grids are often subject to surges, dips, and electromagnetic noise. The 125840-02 includes robust input filtering and surge suppression to protect the sensitive electronic modules within the rack. It is designed to handle a wide range of input voltages, providing stable output even during temporary fluctuations in the plant's electrical supply.
Status Monitoring and Diagnostics
The 125840-02 features dedicated "Supply OK" LEDs on the front panel, providing immediate visual confirmation of the power status. Internally, the module communicates its health to the Rack Interface Module. If a power supply output falls out of tolerance, an alarm is triggered in the management software, allowing for proactive replacement of the module before a system-wide failure occurs.
Safe Installation and Hot-Swapping
The 3500/15 power supply is designed with safety and serviceability in mind. The 125840-02 can be hot-swapped, meaning a technician can replace a failed power supply while the rack is live and the machinery is running. This feature ensures that the machine remains protected 100% of the time, even during routine maintenance or hardware repairs.
