The PCS WIN panel acts as a Profibus DP slave, exchanging process data with a Profibus master such as a Siemens S7 PLC or a PC-based control system. The panel can read and write to Profibus I/O data, allowing operators to view and modify process variables directly on the shop floor. The graphical display can present data in numeric, bar graph, or text formats.
The panel supports up to 32 I/O modules (each up to 16 bytes input and 16 bytes output) for a total of 512 bytes of exchange data. It includes an integrated Profibus DP connector for direct connection to the network. The panel's software includes a built-in Profibus diagnostic tool that displays network status, station failures, and bus errors.
Install the panel in a control cabinet cut-out. Connect the Profibus cable to the D-sub connector; ensure proper termination at the end of the network. Set the station address using the DIP switches on the back. The panel also has a configuration port (RS-232) for downloading the application. The Profibus baud rate is auto-detected by the panel, supporting speeds from 9.6 kbps to 12 Mbps.
Programming is performed using the Lauer PCS Editor with the Profibus DP plugin. The user defines the I/O mapping between the panel's internal registers and the Profibus data. The GSD file must be imported into the Profibus master configuration tool. The panel supports both cyclic and acyclic data exchange for advanced diagnostics.
The panel includes a Profibus diagnostic screen that shows network activity and error counters. It also provides real-time data exchange monitoring. Routine maintenance includes cleaning the front and checking network cable integrity.
This panel is specifically designed for integration into Siemens and other Profibus DP master systems. It can be used as a local control station for complex machinery, providing both monitoring and control capabilities without requiring a dedicated PC.
CE certified and RoHS compliant. The panel is suitable for industrial environments, with immunity to EMI as per EN 61000-6-2.
Lauer provides a Profibus integration guide, a GSD file, and detailed wiring instructions. Technical support is available for network configuration.
The Lauer PCS WIN Profibus DP panel offers a cost-effective, robust HMI solution for Profibus-based automation, enabling efficient local operator interaction within distributed control networks.
