First, overview of electric scooters

In the shared micro-travel market, electric scooters and bicycles are the two mainstream means of transportation, which can better meet the short-distance travel of the public and public transportation connections and transfers, and effectively solve the "last kilometer" demand of urban transportation. Compared with bicycles, scooters occupy a small area, electric power saving, friendly to women when used, riding skills are low, and the application scenario is more extensive. In addition to meeting the daily short-distance travel needs of most people, the electric folding model can be stored in the trunk, and it can be combined with the car or the subway to extend the last kilometer, becoming one of the travel options for white-collar workers.

From the development history of the electric scooter industry, scooters first originated in Western countries and are widely influential among children in the United States. In 2001, 7 million people used scooters as toys in the United States, and skill sports are also very popular among American children and young adults. Electric scooters have a long history of development, but the high-speed popularity began in 2017 when the American company Bird launched a shared electric scooter, which achieved 10 million rides in 12 months, and Bird was successfully listed on the New York Stock Exchange in 2021. The promotion of shared scooters makes electric scooters widely popular around the world.

Second, the electric scooter industry policy review

The development of the electric balance scooter industry is limited due to safety accidents and right-of-way restrictions. In 2015, China's balance vehicle enterprises exported about 12 million balance vehicles, of which more than half were the United States. Specifically, the upstream of the electric scooter mainly includes chips, controllers, chargers, motors, batteries, battery protection boards, etc., of which the lithium battery pack is the power source.

From the perspective of the operation of the lithium-ion battery industry, in 2021, China's lithium-ion battery industry will deepen the supply-side structural reform as the main line, accelerate the modernization of the industrial chain and supply chain, achieve sustained and rapid growth of the whole industry, and continuously improve the supply capacity of advanced products. According to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology data, in 2021, China's lithium-ion battery shipments reached 324GWh, an increase of 106%. From the perspective of lithium-ion battery production, according to the National Bureau of Statistics data, China's lithium-ion battery production in 2021 is 23.26 billion, an increase of 22.4%.
