China's renewable energy has developed by leaps and bounds

Its development achievements have attracted worldwide attention

In recent years, China has made remarkable achievements in the development of renewable energy.

The scale of development and utilization ranks first in the world, providing strong support for green and low-carbon energy transformation. By the end of 2020, hydropower, wind power, photovoltaic power generation and biomass power generation have ranked first in the world for 16 consecutive years, 11 years, 6 years and 3 years respectively. Last year, China's renewable energy generation reached 2.2 trillion KWH, accounting for 29.5% of the country's electricity consumption, an increase of 9.5 percentage points over 2012, which strongly supported the proportion of non-fossil energy in China's primary energy consumption of 15.9%.

The level of technology and equipment has been greatly improved, injecting surging momentum into the development of renewable energy. Zhang Jianhua introduced that China has formed a relatively complete renewable energy technology industrial system, including the hydropower field with the world's largest independent design and manufacturing capacity of million-kilowatt water turbine, low-wind speed wind power technology ranks among the world's top, photovoltaic power generation technology is rapidly iterated, and many times refresh the world record for battery conversion efficiency.

Remarkable results have been achieved in reducing pollution and carbon, laying a solid foundation for ecological progress. In 2020, the scale of China's renewable energy development and utilization will reach 680 million tons of standard coal, equivalent to nearly 1 billion tons of replacement coal, and reduce the emissions of carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides by about 1.79 billion tons, 864,000 tons and 798,000 tons respectively, providing a strong guarantee for the fight against air pollution.

Benefiting the people and benefiting the people with fruitful results, contributing green power to the decisive battle against poverty. Since 2012, a total of 31 large-scale hydropower stations with a capacity of 64.78 million kW have been built in poor areas, contributing to local economic development and the promotion of poverty alleviation and prosperity for immigrants.

International cooperation has been expanding, making China's contribution to jointly addressing climate change. As the world's largest renewable energy market and equipment manufacturer, China continues to deepen international cooperation in the field of renewable energy. The hydropower business covers many countries and regions around the world, and the photovoltaic industry supplies more than 70% of the modules for the global market.

Take multiple measures to ensure consumption

The problem of new energy power consumption has been concerned. "We cannot develop vigorously on the one hand, and abandon wind and light on the other." Huang Xuenong, director of the Power Department of the National Energy Administration, said that in order to achieve the strategic goal of reaching the peak of carbon and carbon neutrality, it is necessary to promote new energy to become the main body of power supply, build a new power system, and take multiple measures to ensure the high level of consumption and utilization of new energy.

We will make overall plans to optimize the layout of new energy development. Huang Xuenong said that it is necessary to combine the conditions of new energy resources in various regions, make full use of the relatively large new energy grid-connected consumption space in the central and eastern regions, and actively promote the local development and utilization of new energy. In the western and northern regions and areas rich in new energy resources, scientific planning and layout of a number of new energy-based power bases and power transmission channels will be carried out to achieve the overall optimal allocation of new energy power.

We will vigorously enhance the flexible regulation capacity of the power system. On the power generation side, we will strengthen the flexible transformation of thermal power, including promoting the construction of pumped storage power stations and natural gas peaking power stations. On the power grid side, it is necessary to increase infrastructure construction and improve the ability to optimize the allocation of resources, in particular, to give play to the mutual benefit of large power grids. On the user side, promote the replacement of terminal electric energy, especially green electric energy, and improve the response ability on the demand side.

Establish a long-term mechanism for the consumption of new energy. On the basis of ensuring the consumption of the power grid, through the integration of the charge and storage of the source network and the multi-energy complementarity, the mechanism of the power supply, the power grid, the user and the energy storage market players to jointly assume the responsibility of clean energy consumption is realized. Coordinate the load side, power side and grid side resources, improve the new energy dispatching mechanism, enhance the adjustment capacity of the power system in multiple dimensions, and ensure that the adjustment capacity matches the scale of new energy development and utilization.
