Turkmenistan is ready to diversify its natural gas supply in the Economic Cooperation Organization region
Turkmenistan's Eastern network reported on March 27 that Turkish President Shirdar Berdymuhamedov met with the Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Huslav Nozri on March 27. The two sides discussed the prospects of cooperation between Turkey and the Economic Cooperation Organization in various fields, pointed out that the member states have great opportunities to establish mutually beneficial partnerships in the fields of economy, trade, culture, ecology and tourism, and supported strengthening the role of the organization. Turkey expressed its intention to diversify its natural gas supply in the OECD region. In addition, the two sides also exchanged views on cooperation in the field of transport and logistics, and the Turkish president invited the member states to make more active use of the north-south and east-west international transport corridors to fully realize the potential of Turkey's transit transport.
The Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) is an inter-governmental Asian international organization initiated by Iran, Turkey and Pakistan in 1985 and headquartered in Tehran, Iran. The current membership of the organization includes Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
