Threshold calibration: The power consumption of different devices in sleep mode varies. To ensure accurate triggering, threshold calibration is required:
Connect the main device (computer) to the main control socket and put it into sleep or standby mode, or turn it off directly.
Simultaneously press and hold the PLAY and MUTE keys for 6 seconds until the leaf icon flashes three times and is accompanied by three beeps.
UPS will record the power consumption of the main device at this moment as the new trigger threshold and save it.
4.2 Front panel and display screen operation guide
Only three buttons (POWER, PLAY, MUTE) on the front panel, combined with an LCD screen, can complete all status monitoring and settings.
Display status icon analysis:
Online: UPS is being powered by mains electricity and providing regulated power to the equipment.
Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR):
The "↓" icon lights up: The mains voltage is too low, and the UPS is boosting compensation.
The "↑" icon lights up: The mains voltage is too high, and the UPS is reducing the voltage for compensation. This feature avoids frequent switching to the battery and extends battery life.
Input/output voltage: Real time display of numerical values.
System malfunction: Display fault codes (such as F01, F02), please refer to page 6 of the manual for troubleshooting.
Mute: When the speaker icon has a slash, it indicates that the audible alarms have been turned off.
Battery replacement: The battery icon flashes, indicating that the battery is not connected or approaching the end of its lifespan.
Using batteries: UPS is powered by batteries and emits four beeps every 30 seconds.
4.3 Operating Mode and Sensitivity Settings
Display energy-saving mode: To save energy, the display screen can be set to automatically turn off after 60 seconds of inactivity. Press and hold the PLAY button for 2 seconds to switch between "constant light mode" and "energy-saving mode".
Sensitivity setting: This setting affects the response speed of UPS to deterioration of mains power quality. When the UPS is turned off, long press the POWER button for 6 seconds to enter programming mode (load capacity bar flashes), then press the POWER button alone to cycle between low, medium, and high sensitivity. Once selected, the UPS will emit a confirmation prompt sound. In areas with unstable electricity, it is recommended to choose lower sensitivity to reduce unnecessary battery switching.
Alarm, fault diagnosis and maintenance
5.1 Meaning of Sound Alarm
Four beeps every 30 seconds: UPS is running in battery mode, it is recommended to save the work.
Continuous beeping: The battery is about to run out, please save all work immediately and shut down the system.
Continuous beep: The battery backup output port is overloaded and some devices need to be disconnected.
Every 5 hours, beep for 1 minute: Battery self-test failed and needs to be replaced.
5.2 Warning icons and fault codes
Overload icon flashing (mains mode): Disconnect some devices to alleviate the load.
Overload icon flashing (battery mode): Immediately disconnect non critical devices to ensure backup time.
Battery malfunction icon: The battery is not functioning properly, please contact customer service for replacement.
Low battery icon (battery mode): Immediately turn off all devices to avoid data loss.
System fault codes (F01/F02, etc.): usually indicate internal hardware faults and require contact with Schneider Electric IT (SEIT) technical support.
5.3 Battery replacement
UPS batteries are consumables. When the "Replace Battery" icon is constantly on or the software prompts, it should be replaced in a timely manner. Be sure to use APC original or certified replacement batteries (such as BR550GI corresponding to APCRBC110, BR900GI corresponding to APCRBC123, BR1200/1500GI corresponding to APCRBC124). The replacement steps are simple. Open the chassis, disconnect the old battery connector, and replace it with a new battery. Important safety reminder: Before long-term storage or transportation, be sure to disconnect the internal battery connector.
5.4 Service and Warranty
When there is a problem with the device, please do not return it directly to the dealer. Firstly, refer to the troubleshooting section of the manual. If the problem persists, visit www.apc.com to contact SEIT customer support and provide the model, serial number, and purchase date. The standard warranty period is 2 years for BR 550GI/1200GI/1500GI and 3 years for BR 900GI/900G-FR/1200G-FR/1500G-FR. During the warranty period, SEIT usually uses factory refurbished machines for replacement.
Overview of Technical Specifications
The Back UPS Pro series offers power options ranging from 550VA to 1500VA to meet different load requirements. The entire series supports a wide input voltage range (176-294V), with built-in automatic voltage regulation (AVR), short conversion time (≤ 10ms), and output as a stepped sine wave. The typical charging time is 8-12 hours and the working temperature is 0-40 ° C. All models provide data cable surge protection and have passed multiple international certifications such as CE and GS.
