This series not only provides reliable battery backup and surge protection, but also integrates intelligent energy management, device linkage control, and comprehensive status monitoring functions, making it an ideal power protection solution for home offices, small and medium-sized enterprises, and even professional workstations.

Unpacking and safety instructions: The first step is crucial

After receiving the device, please first check if the packaging is complete and verify if it includes the UPS host, user manual, safety guide, power cord, and data cable (USB/serial). If any transportation damage is found, please contact the carrier and distributor immediately.

Safety first: Be sure to read the accompanying 'Safety Guide' before installation. This UPS is for indoor use only. Please avoid direct sunlight, contact with liquids, and stay away from dusty and humid environments. Ensure that the ventilation openings of the equipment are not blocked and there is sufficient space around to facilitate heat dissipation. The battery life is usually 3-5 years, but high ambient temperatures, poor mains power quality, or frequent short-term discharges can shorten its lifespan. Important reminder: Please insert the UPS power cord directly into the wall socket and do not use power strips or extension cords to ensure reliable grounding and effective overload protection.


Installation and Initialization: Three Step Quick Start

3.1 Connecting internal battery (first use)

Some models may have their battery connectors disconnected during transportation to save power. Open the back cover of the device, locate the battery connector, and firmly insert it into the corresponding interface of the motherboard. This is the basis for UPS to provide backup power.

3.2 Connecting Protected Devices

The interface design of the back panel of Back UPS Pro is clear and the functions are clear:

Battery backup+surge protection output port (6, 7): This is the core output port. When the mains power is interrupted, these interfaces will be powered by internal batteries, providing limited running time for connected critical devices such as desktop computers, monitors, modems, routers, so that users can safely save data and shut down. Among them, the interface (7) managed by the "main control socket" can be linked with energy-saving functions.

Main control socket (8): Connect the main device you define (usually a computer host). UPS controls other controlled devices by monitoring the power consumption changes of this socket.

Pure surge protection output ports (4, 5): These interfaces provide 24/7 surge protection, but do not have battery backup function. Suitable for connecting peripheral devices such as printers, scanners, speakers, etc.

Data surge protection ports (2,10): including input/output protection for telephone lines (RJ11) and Ethernet (RJ45), to prevent surges from damaging modems, routers, or network cards through the network or telephone lines.

Data communication port (1): USB or serial port, used to connect to a computer and install the matching PowerChute Personal Edition software.

3.3 Installing Intelligent Management Software

The accompanying PowerChute Personal Edition software is UPS's "Smart Brain". After connecting the UPS and computer through a data cable, run the installation CD and follow the instructions to complete the installation. This software can achieve:

Automatic Safe Shutdown: Automatically saves files and shuts down the computer operating system in case of mains power failure and battery depletion.

Power event recording: Record voltage fluctuations, power outages, and other events to help analyze power quality.

Battery status monitoring: displays battery capacity, expected operating time, and health status.

Detailed explanation of core functions and advanced configuration

4.1 Intelligent energy-saving function: linkage between the main control socket and the controlled socket

This function can automatically turn off the power of non essential peripheral devices, achieving "one click energy saving".

Enable/Disable: Press and hold the MUTE and PLAY keys on the front panel for 2 seconds at the same time. When you hear a prompt sound and the "Leaf" icon on the screen lights up/goes off, you can do it.

Principle: When the computer connected to the main control socket (8) enters sleep, standby, or shutdown mode (with significantly reduced power consumption), the UPS will automatically cut off the power supply to peripheral devices (such as monitors and speakers) on the designated controlled socket (7).
