The Lauer PCS590p (also referred to as PCS595p) is a compact operator panel from the Busline Mini series, featuring an integrated Profibus DP slave interface. It combines a graphic display, a tactile keypad, and fieldbus connectivity in a small footprint, making it ideal for machine‑side control in distributed automation systems. The panel operates on a 24 V DC supply and is designed for panel mounting in industrial environments.
The panel is equipped with a 5.7‑inch STN graphic LCD with 320 x 240 pixel resolution and a white LED backlight. The display supports text, bitmaps, and simple graphics. The keypad includes 22 keys: 10 numeric keys, decimal, sign, arrows, Enter, Escape, and 6 programmable function keys (F1‑F6) with LED indicators. Keys are backlit and rated for 500,000 operations. The front overlay is IP65 rated.
The built‑in Profibus DP slave complies with DP‑V0 and DP‑V1, with auto‑detected baud rates up to 12 Mbit/s. A 9‑pin D‑sub connector with galvanic isolation (1.5 kV) provides the bus connection. The slave address (1‑125) is set via a rotary switch. Configurable I/O data length up to 122 bytes input and 122 bytes output. The I/O mapping is defined in the LAUER configuration software.
A secondary RS‑232 port (9‑pin) is available for programming and local communication (Modbus RTU or ASCII). No Ethernet is provided, keeping the unit cost‑effective for fieldbus‑centric applications.

Isolation: 1.5 kV (Profibus), 500 V (RS‑232)
Protection: Reverse polarity, overvoltage
Housing: ABS/PC, UL94 V‑0, front IP65, rear IP20
Mounting: Panel‑mount (cut‑out 166 x 126 mm)
Dimensions: 190 x 150 x 50 mm
Weight: 0.65 kg
Operating Temperature: 0 °C to +50 °C
Programmed with LAUER PCS‑Config (version 4.0+). The software includes a Profibus wizard that generates a GSD file (LAUER_PCS595.GSD). Import the GSD into the PLC master, select I/O length, set the same address, and download. The panel will exchange data cyclically. Diagnostic LEDs indicate bus status.
Mount the panel, connect power and Profibus cable. Download the application via RS‑232. Replace the internal battery (CR2032) every 5 years. Clean the front overlay regularly. If communication fails, check cable, termination, address, and GSD settings.
The PCS590p is the standard Profibus variant; PCS595p may indicate a different firmware revision. Specify the exact part number when ordering.
