In terms of Marine equipment, Huanan Marine Machinery adheres to the differentiated competitive strategy. As a landmark product of Huangpu Wenchong, China's first ultra-deep water research drilling ship - ocean drilling ship is being built. The ship is the first ultra-deep water research vessel designed and built by China independently for deep-sea drilling of 10,000 meters, and is a major equipment in the field of deep-sea exploration in China. With a designed displacement of 42,000 tons, the ship is capable of operating in unlimited navigation areas in global waters and drilling in waters of more than 10,000 meters. Delivery is expected to be completed in 2024.

The ocean drilling ship has broken through more than 10 key technologies such as comprehensive optimization of hydrodynamic performance and layout of operating system modules. It has two operation modes of oil and gas drilling and ocean scientific drilling, with both riser and riserless drilling operations. In the future, 10 types of advanced shipboard equipment are planned to be configured to form nine laboratories covering the whole field of Marine research. And for the first time equipped with international first-class standards of paleomagnetic and ultra-clean laboratory. After the completion of the ocean drilling ship, it will mainly undertake major national science and technology projects and international scientific programs in the ocean scientific drilling tasks.
