4.5 AHCI Configuration and PCI Express Configuration
AHCI Configuration: This option is reserved for OEM and allows you to view the status of SATA devices connected in AHCI mode.
PCI Express Configuration: Active State Power Management (ASPM) controls the L0s and L1 power-saving states of PCIe links. It is recommended to maintain the default configuration.
4.6 Remote Access Configuration (Advanced → Remote Access Configuration)
Implementing BIOS level remote management through serial port, suitable for unmanned or remote debugging scenarios:
Enable Remote Access and select COM1 or COM2 as the redirect port.
Set Serial Port Mode (baud rate, such as 115200 8, n,1)、Flow Control(None/Hardware/Software)。
Reversion After BIOS POST: Optional Disabled, Boot Loader, Always. Set to Always to capture POST error messages throughout the process and send them to remote terminals via serial port.
Terminal Type: Optional ANSI, VT100, VT-UTF8.
Note: If the serial port address is changed in Super IO Configuration, the Remote Access option will only update after saving and restarting.
4.7 USB Configuration (Advanced → USB Configuration)
Legacy USB Support: Set to Enabled to use USB keyboard/mouse during DOS or system startup without loading USB drivers. Set to Auto to automatically detect USB devices.
USB 2.0 Controller Mode: Optional FullSpeed (12 Mbps) or HiSpeed (480 Mbps), it is recommended to maintain HiSpeed.
BIOS EHCI handover: Provides compatibility support for operating systems that do not support EHCI handover.
USB Mass Storage Device Configuration: It can set the emulation type (Auto/Floppy/Forced FDD/Hard Disk/CDROM) of large capacity USB storage devices, as well as the delay time for POST waiting for USB devices.
Chapter 5: Driver Installation Sequence and Special Precautions
The driver for NuPRO-965 is located in the accompanying ADLINK All in One CD, and the installation sequence is: chipset driver → display driver → network card driver → audio driver.
5.1 Chipset Driver (Intel Q965 Express)
Path: X: Industrial Motherboard NuPRO-965 Shipset , run Setup. exe. After installation, Windows will recognize the various functional modules of Q965 MCH and ICH8 South Bridge.
5.2 Display Driver (Intel GMA 3000)
Path: X: Industrial Motherboard NuPRO-965 VGA , run win2k-xp1425. exe. GMA 3000 supports DirectX 9 hardware acceleration, core frequency of 400MHz, maximum shared 256MB of video memory, and supports dual independent display.
5.3 Network Card Driver (Intel 82573)
Path: X: Industrial Motherboard NuPRO-965 Ethernet , run PRO2KXP.exe. Note: The NuPRO-965DV dual network card version requires two network port drivers to be installed separately. After installation, two Intel 82573L PCIe Gigabit network cards can be seen in the Device Manager.
5.4 Audio Driver (requires cooperation with DB-Audio2 daughter card)
Path: X: Industrial Motherboard NuPRO-965 Audio , run SETUP.exe. Before installation, it is necessary to confirm in the BIOS that the HDA Controller is enabled (Chipset → South Bridge Configuration).
5.5 Special Reminder: Linux System Installation Precautions
The manual clearly states: "Use a USB/SATA optical and hard disk drive to install Linux operating systems. IDE devices will not be recognized during Linux installation as Linux does not yet support PCIe to IDE controllers." If NuPRO-965LV is used to install Linux, the optical drive/hard disk on the IDE interface will not be recognized and USB or SATA devices will need to be used for system installation.

Chapter 6: PCI/PnP Configuration and Interrupt Resource Management
In "Advanced PCI/PnP Settings", fine management of interrupts and DMA resources on the PCI bus can be performed:
Clear NVRAM: Clears ESCD data from NVRAM during system startup.
Plug&Play O/S: When set to Yes, PnP devices are managed by the operating system; When set to No, all devices are configured by BIOS.
PCI Latency Timer: Set the delay timer for PCI devices (unit: PCI clock cycle), the default value is usually sufficient.
Allocate IRQ to PCI VGA: Allocate IRQ to PCI VGA card, which can be set to Disabled if using onboard VGA.
IRQ/DMA: Each IRQ/DMA channel can be set to "Available" (for use by PCI/PnP devices) or "Reserved" (reserved for traditional ISA devices). When using an ISA expansion card, it is necessary to manually reserve the corresponding IRQ.
Reserved Memory Size: Reserve memory area for ISA devices (usually used for ISA graphics cards or special I/O cards).
Chapter 7: Boot Boot Configuration and Security Settings
7.1 Boot Optimization (Boot → Boot Settings Configuration)
Quick Boot: Skip some POST detections after enabling, significantly reducing startup time.
Quiet Boot: When enabled, display the full screen logo and hide POST diagnostic information; If disabled, detailed self-test information will be displayed.
Bootup Num Lock: Set the Num Lock key status (On/Off) when booting up.
Wait For 'F1' If Error: After enabling, if POST detects an error (such as fan stoppage or high temperature), the system will pause and prompt to press F1 to continue, facilitating fault location.
