7.2 Boot Priority (Boot → Boot Device Priority)
You can set the first, second, and third startup devices. NuPRO-965 supports booting from various media such as hard drives, optical drives, USB devices, and network (PXE). To enable network boot, set the Onboard Lan Boot ROM to Enabled in Chipset settings.
7.3 Security Settings
Supervisor Password and User Password: Provides two levels of password protection. The supervisor has the authority to modify BIOS settings, while the user can only view them.
Boot Sector Virus Protection: When enabled, any write operation (including formatting) to the hard disk boot sector will trigger a warning prompt, effectively preventing boot viruses.
Chapter 8: Chipset Chipset Deep Configuration
8.1 North Bridge Configuration
Memory Remap Feature: When enabled, it allows overlapping PCI memory to be remapped onto the total physical memory. Addressing memory above 4GB is crucial and it is recommended to keep it enabled.
DRAM Frequency: When set to Auto, the frequency is automatically determined by SPD; It can also be manually locked to 533/667/800 MHz.
Configure DRAM Timing by SPD: Once enabled, the timing parameters are determined by SPD; After disabling, parameters such as CAS # Latency and RAS # to CAS # Delay can be manually adjusted, suitable for advanced overclocking/tuning scenarios.
Initial Graphics Adapter: Select the primary display device - PEG Port (PCIe graphics card) or Internal (onboard GMA 3000).
DVMT Mode Select: Dynamic video memory allocation technology, available in either Fixed Mode or DVMT Mode (on-demand dynamic allocation). In DVMT mode, the system will automatically adjust the video memory size (up to 256MB) according to application requirements.
8.2 South Bridge Configuration
USB Functions: Enable/disable USB ports (can be controlled separately).
HDA Controller: Enable/disable high fidelity audio controller.
SMBUS Controller: Enable/disable the System Management Bus Controller.
Restore on AC Power Loss: Same as the settings in APM, the configuration here takes priority.
PCIe ports 0/1/2/3/4/5: can control the enable/disable/automatic mode of each PCIe port separately. If encountering PCIe device recognition abnormalities, you can try manually setting it to Enabled and checking the port configuration.
PCIE High Priority Port: Select a high priority port for devices that are sensitive to latency, such as high-speed network cards or data acquisition cards.
Chapter 9: Quick Troubleshooting Table for Common Malfunctions
Troubleshooting steps for possible causes of fault phenomena
No response when powered on, fan not running, ATX 12V not connected or power failure. Check if CN7 is plugged in tightly and test if the power output is normal
Power on but no display. CPU not installed, poor memory contact, graphics card conflict. Reinstall CPU and memory, clear CMOS (JP7), check Initial Graphics Adapter settings
The system repeatedly restarts due to poor heat dissipation and insufficient power supply. Monitor the BIOS Hardware Health temperature and replace the high-power power supply
The operating system cannot find the hard disk SATA mode setting error, loose cable changed to Compatible or AHCI mode, check the SATA cable connection
IDE device cannot recognize (LV model) JMicron controller not enabled, Linux system restriction check whether JMicron 36x ATA Controller is enabled in BIOS; Switching to SATA/USB devices under Linux
The network port cannot be recognized or the LAN Boot ROM cannot be started. The Onboard Lan Boot ROM is not enabled in Chipset. Check the Boot Device Priority
USB keyboard is invalid under DOS. Legacy USB Support is not enabled. Enable Legacy USB Support in USB Configuration
Reset the system time every time the CMOS battery runs out and replace the onboard CR2032 button battery to reset the time
