Mechanical characteristics: opening distance of 22mm, opening speed of 1.6-2.0m/s, and optimized with an external silicone rubber insulation layer, suitable for dry air or N2 environment.
Quality Assurance and Testing System
Eaton conducts testing throughout the entire manufacturing process for each vacuum arc extinguishing chamber to ensure zero defects in the products leaving the factory. The testing items include:
Dielectric withstand test: Conduct power frequency withstand voltage and lightning impulse withstand voltage tests one by one to verify the internal insulation strength.
Vacuum degree assurance test: Using techniques such as magnetron discharge to ensure that the internal vacuum degree meets the requirements.
Mechanical operation test: Verify mechanical characteristics such as opening distance, overtravel, opening and closing speed, bounce, etc.
Barcode traceability system: Each arc extinguishing chamber has a unique serial number that can trace material batches, production processes, and operator information.
In addition, Eaton conducts systematic type testing on new designs at its single-phase development laboratory in the United States and KEMA certified three-phase laboratory in Europe to ensure that the products meet or even exceed industry standards before certification.
Selection Guide and Customization Options
When choosing a vacuum arc extinguishing chamber, the following factors should be considered comprehensively:
System voltage and insulation level: Select the rated voltage based on the maximum operating voltage, and verify the power frequency withstand voltage and lightning impulse withstand voltage values.
Rated current and temperature rise: Select based on long-term load current and consider the impact of contact resistance on temperature rise.
Breaking ability: including short-circuit breaking current, closing current, and special breaking (such as capacitor current, charging current) requirements.
Mechanical and electrical lifespan: Depending on the operating frequency, E2 level is suitable for automatic reclosing, and C2 level is suitable for capacitive current breaking.
Installation interface: The standardized design of VISA series enables extremely high interchangeability within the same voltage level, simplifying selection and spare parts management.
Eaton also offers a wide range of customization options:
External insulation: A solid insulation layer of silicone rubber or epoxy resin (E-version) can be applied to enhance the dielectric performance in outdoor or high-altitude environments.
End silver plating: Optional electrode end silver plating (S-version) can be used to reduce contact resistance and improve corrosion resistance.
Terminal design: Customization of internal/external threads, anti twist guide sleeves, special contact materials (such as TMF, AMF structures), etc. can be made according to customer needs.
