Introduction

XP-702 MICRO PANEL is an industrial grade tablet computer (Industrial PC) launched by Eaton Corporation, widely used in mechanical manufacturing and automation control systems. This device has an open system architecture, powerful processing performance, and multiple interface configurations, making it suitable for complex industrial environments. XP-702 MICRO PANEL is an industrial computer that integrates display and control, supporting Windows XP or Windows XPe operating systems. It is mainly used for tasks such as human-machine interface (HMI), data acquisition and processing, and on-site control, and is suitable for installation environments such as control cabinets, control panels, or workstations.

Safety and compliance requirements

3.1 General Safety Regulations

The equipment complies with current technical standards, but it still needs to be installed and used strictly according to the operating instructions. Any unauthorized modification or improper use may result in equipment malfunction or personal injury.

3.2 Usage Restrictions

Prohibited from being used to implement safety protection functions for personnel or equipment.

Prohibited from use in potentially explosive environments unless the equipment has been certified accordingly.

3.3 Personnel Requirements

Only trained professionals are allowed to install, operate, and maintain the equipment. All operators must read and understand the relevant content of the operation manual.

Structure and Interface

4.1 Front panel operating components

Infrared touch screen: Touch operation is achieved by interrupting the infrared matrix without directly touching the screen.

TFT-LCD display: Supports SVGA (800 × 600) or XGA (1024 × 768) resolution.

4.2 Service side operation and indicator components

CF card slot: Supports two CF cards, one for operating system and the other for data storage.

LED indicator light:

Installation Guide

5.1 Installation location requirements

The equipment must be installed horizontally.

The installation opening size should be accurate to ± 1 mm.

A minimum gap of 5 cm should be maintained around the ventilation opening.

Avoid direct sunlight to prevent infrared touch interference and plastic aging.

5.2 Installation steps

Check if there is any damage during the transportation of the equipment.

Install PCI expansion card (if required).

Install CF card or hard drive.

Install active cooling unit (only 1.8 GHz model).

Fix the device at the installation opening using the attached fixing clip and threaded pin.

Connect the power supply and communication interface.

5.3 Requirements for the number of fixed clips (meeting IP65/NEMA 4X)

Operating instructions

6.1 Starting the device

Ensure that the operating system is installed on the CF card or hard drive.

Connect the 24 VDC power supply and the device will automatically start.

If the first startup fails, please check the power connection and storage medium.

6.2 Shutdown and restart

Shut down the operating system first, and then cut off the power.

Please wait for at least 20 seconds before restarting.

Maintenance and Service

7.1 Cleaning of Infrared Touchscreen

Clean the infrared frame with a soft damp cloth.

Avoid using sharp objects or corrosive cleaning agents.

If the touch response is abnormal, check if the infrared channel is contaminated.

7.2 Battery replacement

Battery type: CR2477, 3.0 V, 950 mAh

After replacement, the system time and date need to be reset.

7.3 Cooling unit replacement

Pull out the power cord of the cooling unit.

Remove the expansion rivet.

Install a new cooling unit and secure it.
